And that's why I don't complain about Irsay being the Colts owner. We got a highly respected GM candidate...and the 49ers got John Lynch.
I don't know why people are throwing stones at the 49ers hiring John Lynch when many around here wanted Manning to run the franchise and he has as much experience as Lynch does.

I agree Irsay is a better owner than York however.

Wanting to hire the former QB who is one of the greatest football minds ever and hiring John Lynch to a six year contract are two very different things.

Not if they have the same amount of experience at least Elway learned the trade with an arena team before he took over the Broncos job. People forget that for some reason.

For all we know John Lynch could have a brilliant FB mind as well but since that only seems to apply to QBs and nobody else apparently people are skeptical.

FWIW I don't think this will work out for the 49ers because that franchise isn't going anywhere without a QB and an owner who will leave well enough alone.

Both lacking with that franchise until then who they hire doesn't really matter.

    This franchise loves Broncos/Patriots castoffs...

Texans add Wes Welker to staff

The Texans have hired former NFL wide receiver Wes Welker as an offensive and special teams assistant.

Welker was at last week’s Senior Bowl with members of the Texans’ coaching staff. Welker, who played for the Patriots when Texans coach Bill O’Brien was on the Patriots’ staff, finished a 12-year playing career in 2015.

Bobby King was also hired as the team’s new linebackers coach. The Texans promoted linebackers coach Mike Vrabel to defensive coordinator earlier this month.

King spent the last three seasons with the Chargers. He was previously with the Texans from 2011-13.

So NFL posted a video on their Facebook about how 11 of the past 12 years, the team that has worn white white has won.

And they said the Patriots are going to be wearing white this Sunday lol. So it's confirmed Patriots are winning.

They said this last year(probably a large part as to why the Broncos chose white last year because they are winless in the Orange uniforms which many thought they were going to wear in the SB)

The Panthers wore black for the first time and lost.

Atlanta is sticking with the red jerseys (the black ones were the ones they lost to the Broncos in)

Probably because he's a d-bag. No - that SHOULDN'T be a reason, but it clearly is. As for his reaction:
Owens continued to rant against the Hall on Twitter later Saturday night, saying: "HOF is a total joke. Honestly, doesn't mean anything to me to get in beyond this point."
OK - take him off the ballot in the coming years. And he'd cry about that too.

Which makes the HOF a bigger joke than it already is becoming.

Ray Lewis, OJ Simpson etc are in the HOF and not exactly exemplary so is Michael Irvin

Hell you could say this about Marvin Harrison(allegedly). Yet their off the field indiscretions aren't being held against them in the process.

The fact they are letting it be a factor with certain players ruins the "mystique" and "legitimacy" of the HOF and just shows what it has always been a politicized popularity contest.

TO will get in eventually, but the voters are making him sweat it a bit because of the fact that he's such a d-bag. And his reaction certainly did nothing to help his case.

And its still a joke if you think he's talented enough to get in he should get in yes he's a d-bag so are many others in the HOF some even horrific criminals yet they overlook that for his talent but T.O. they can't apparently

    Yeah that makes sense.

What did TO do that was so bad though? Setups in the driveway? Talk ish about McNabb and Garcia? Get over it.

Ray Lewis, Michael Irving, Lawrence Taylor, all made questionable life decisions. But they managed to get in without issue.

The guy is easily the 3rd best receiver to ever play. Him not being voted in certainly brings the legitimacy of the voter process into question.
