Maybe the big ten winner should have been in the playoffs...

Hard to imagine they would have been any more pathetic than OSU.

Indiana would have played Clemson more competitive than OSU too. Doesn't mean they should have been in the playoff.

This National Championship game has lived up to the billing. Jalen Hurts is a cool, cool customer. Freaking 18 years old.

been flipping back and forth between the actual game and the broadcast on ESPNU with Bill Walton, Bilas, Keyshawn Johnson, Beadle, Marcellus Wiley and others. Bill keeps calling Keyshawn Joe and Amin Elhassan Sam. Bill was dressed as Uncle Sam for half of it.

I think the Big 10 as a whole was overrated and would've gotten mowed down by Clemson regardless who came out of this conference but I do think Penn State should've gotten in because they actually won their conference and beat Ohio State to do so.

Good job Clemson beating Ohio State(you have no shot vs Bama though)
Never been so happy to be wrong congrats Clemson and their fans.

So glad to see a different team win it all.

One that waited 35 years too.

I love Dabo Swinney too. Really happy for him and Deshaun Watson and Clemson fans.

Didn't really have a dog in the fight, congrats to Clemson, but by the end I was sort of hoping Alabama would win because holy cow, those were two of the most blatant non calls on critical scores I have ever seen in my life. Pick play indeed.

Dabo was kinda a nobody when he got the Clemson gig too. seen a lot of their fans talking about how when he got the interim gig they didn't want to keep his *** at all.

I do wonder is it him or Deshaun Watson.

I mean Jimbo Fisher is the Florida State coach but they were unbeatable when Jameis Winston was their QB not so much now.

Dabo did a pretty good job with Tajh Boyd too. I think it's more Dabo than the Jimbo/Jameis or Malzahn/Cam duos. Wouldn't surprise me if they lost 2-3 games next year though.

I would give anything to hear Bill Walton and Clyde Frazier call a game together.

him and Keyshawn Johnson got along really well. Bill kept trying to play catch with him, for like 5 hours, until Keyshawn had to tell him enough. Keyshawn also has a good mind for the minutiae of college football apparently, referenced a lot of plays and stuff from last year's game with a lot of detail off the top of the head.

College football games are brutally long, almost all of them are unwatchable.

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I think replay, while in theory a no brainer, actually hurts the flow of games. Not just college football, but NFL, college basketball, NBA, all of it. They are so scared of making mistakes they overuse replay, and half the time it just ends up in arguments over what is and is not a catch, or some other minutiae of a rule.

so Minnesota got PJ Fleck, and good for them. Big Ten West isn't playing around with the coaching hires man. even if Lovie is just looking like a big name and that's about it, dude seems to hate the grind of college ball.

It's the extra clock stoppages all together. It was awesome playing the video games and having the clock stop on first downs but in real life... Not so much.
