Unless we find a way to play Eastern Kentucky again, I dont think we're going to win more then 1 game this year.

so I'm gonna go ahead and endorse Brock Spack as the next coach. I was glad he didn't get the job when Tiller left (though woulda preferred him over Hope), wanted a young innovator. but we're probably one of the 2 or 3 least attractive P5 jobs now and now that Burke'll be gone maybe Spack'll bury the hatchet and come home, he's done really good stuff at Illinois State. I'd be pretty confident he could at least get us back to 6+ wins every year and he'd be a lifer. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten any FBS offers after his Illinois State performance really.

Danny Etling, the new starting QB for LSU. yet he wasn't good enough for Purdue. almost like the coaches are morons or something.
Etling really didn't do much for LSU 6 for 14 and half of his yards came on one pass, he still isn't that good. These numbers came against Jackson State, at Death Valley....

Blough's INT numbers don't really do justice to the way he played. He also put up 400 passing yards with no run game to be found, if we can start holding on to passes and being more aggressive then we should be fine.
    Why so SERIOUS

Purdue remains one of the likeliest Power 5 jobs to open after the season, and here's a name to keep in mind: New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael. Although he hasn't coached in college since the 1990s at Louisiana Tech, Carmichael has had success with the Saints offense. Perhaps most important, would garner support from former Purdue quarterback Drew Brees, who could be instrumental in the Boilers' search if they decided to replace Darrell Hazell
    Thoughts?

Sure. Young, likes to throw, isn't Hazell, likely wouldn't cost an arm and a leg which is gonna be a problem for a couple years since Hazell's FULLY GUARANTEED for like 2.3 mil for 2 more years, so sure.

I'm on the Brock Spack train though. I think he'd be a guaranteed 6+ wins a year as soon as his 2nd year and the occasional 8 wins with a favorable schedule. Just be a mediocre Big Ten team again is all I ask, maybe get too big for our britches and win 10 games once a decade. I mean, look at the B10 West, I want us to look at Illinois, Minnesota, and Northwestern as pencilled in Ws. I don't really think that's a big ask.

Speaking of which, did you guys see that comment from Austin Appleby? Probably nothing but whatever:

Appleby raised eyebrows in West Lafayette on Monday when he said of Florida: "I've never been around a place where our coaches truly care."

Appleby's kinda hinted around that he thinks he got screwed here. Which, yeah, he probably did I guess.

I don't see it. I mean Hazell obviously blows but I have a hard time believing he doesn't care about these players.
