FYI Northwestern looks winnable. Lost to a MAC team week 1 and Illinois State this week.
no excuse ever to lose to an FCS team I know, but Illinois State's good. Brock Spack had em in the championship 2 years ago and 3 rounds deep in the playoffs last year.

Simmie Cobbs is likely out for the year apparently, so that sucks. Westbrook has done good filling in for him the last couple weeks though. 210 yards and 2 TD's.

    Bummer

Poor guy only got to play like 3 snaps this season.

The real question is: How is Dan Feeney?

I heard he has a concussion, not sure how bad. Hopefully the bye week will be good for him and he'll be back vs Wake.

Nate had his issues, but he was a pretty damn good college quarterback.
Sorry guys, but it just always seemed to me he made the wrong move at the worst time. Could some of that be play calling? Sure, but not all of the time. His interceptions (for example) always seemed to come when there was an easier, less risky play available to him.

Yeah, I'll take the bad with the good there. My biggest issue with him was that he seemed to get banged up fairly easily.

You have to credit Wilson for a couple things.

1.) Quietly IU has become a cradle of college running backs over the past 5 years. Coleman to Howard to Redding. Wilson recruits and develops fantastic 3 down college backs and he gives them an o-line to run behind.

2.) The IU defense I think will still prove to be shaky against better teams, but the fact that they are showing improvement every year is something we haven't seen at IU in my life time.

3.) IU never seems to miss a beat due to injury. Wilson believes in all of his guys and you can tell the players believe that when they get a shot they can make plays. The Cobbs injury stinks, but I have no doubt they'll bounce back from it.

Trying to keep expectations in check because the wins so far are still just FIU and Ball State, but beat Wake and like CDash I see Sparty as winnable in Bloomington.

I'll add one word that relates to what Trader Joe has said.

    Depth.

Wilson definitely knows how to develop RB's. Redding, Howard, and Coleman were all some of the top backs in the B1G. Scary thing is Wilson says Camion Patrick is in that mold as well.

It's not the running backs so much as the offensive line that deserves the praise. You could see it when Feeney got knocked out of the game Saturday--Redding wasn't nearly as effective. He develops good running backs and good schemes, but the o-line is the star of the running game show imo.

I will say this for Wilson: He is very, very good at adjusting his offensive schemes to the type of talent he has in place on offense. The offense under Roberson was a ton of read option stuff, then more spread with less mobile guys like Sudfeld, and dinks and dunks with the hapless Zander Diamont.

It sounds like Camion Patrick has a chance to make it back vs Wake Forest FWIW.

IU football isn't catastrophically embarrassing at the moment, so that means Wilson has certainly done a solid job.

Crappy news. I've actually grown to really appreciate Hartman's role on the team.

Looks like Wilson is opening up the playbook a bit more today. Not surprising.

Kinda bummed Michigan State got shitstomped today. They'll likely be pissed off next week when they visit Bloomington.

Somebody needs to *****slap Lagow at halftime and tell him to stop throwing the ball to the other team.

Well, perhaps another pinstripe bowl is in the works.
If I can get the opportunity, I will go again.
Besides the early strike, this has been a turdstorm.
A good crowd was in the stands from what I saw and as usual, their enthusiasm has been rewarded.

Well, that's IU football for ya. Really thought we could handle this team at home, but I guess not.
