    Default Pacers-Kings-Nets

Let me start off by saying that I know this trade will not happen. It's fun though, to speculate what could happen if the right people were running these teams.

Pacers send Ellis to Kings. Kings send Gay to Nets. Nets send Thaddeus Young to Pacers.

The Kings were pursuing Ellis last summer. With Rondo leaving, Ellis could step in as a scoring point guard. This will also free up a couple million dollars more to use in free agency. Plus, they were pursuing him last summer, I would be glad to oblige and send him to them now.

The Nets get another scorer plus Gay's contract is a year shorter than Young's. They could have extra money to use in free agency in the summer of 2017 or 2018 depending on whether or not Gay opts out.

The Pacers get a starting power forward and free up minutes for a starting point guard, which they should pursue this summer.

I'd be up for it. Thad Young can be that small ball PF that Bird wants.

The problem with this deal is we'd have to have a plan for a 2 guard in free agency. Either Derozan or Barnes or someone to replace Ellis.

    We have a 2 guard....George Hill.

Sign Lawson to play point guard and GHill at shooting guard. If Lawson doesn't work out, slide GHill to point guard and use Miles (unless GRIII beats him out) at shooting guard this season. Then go after Teague in the summer of 2017.

Salary Cap would still be there.....swapping in Thad with Ellis won't adversely affect our Salary Cap situation. There would still be Cap Space to pursue other FAs at whatever position.

Fantastic idea. In the old Billy King days maybe this could happen. Sean Marks seems smarter though.

If we keep playing musical chairs with George Hill we'll never keep Paul from leaving in free agency. We need to upgrade.

I would wager that dealing GH3, who is a close friend of PG, would do more for him leaving than not dealing GH3...

If Thad can rebound like he did this past season, this would be a solid trade.
First time in a long time, I've been happy with the team that was constructed, and now they struggle. I blame the coach.
