    Default Ricky Rubio?

    Ellis + filler for Rubio?

Bird seemingly wants a point guard like that to play more uptempo.

Rubio can't shoot, and is injury prone. I doubt it happens.

Great passer and sound defense, I'd take Rube for Ellis quickly. I don't see us being that lucky.

I'd do this for sure. Wolves would not.

Ellis is not going to be traded until the summer of 2017 at the earliest...and probably not even then.

Besides, I think Bird has his eye on Lawson becoming our point guard.

It would probably have to be Ellis plus our first. I would probably do this. Adding Rubio to G2 would be a crazy long backcourt. You would put George and George on the two best players and let Rubio concentrate on playing passing lanes, I am drooling. Plus he makes everyone better on offense. Pick and rolls with Myles with George and PG in the corners. That could be fun.

Monta is a better scorer, Rubio is a significantly better passer. Neither of them can shoot. Rubio is a bit more expensive but he also is 5 years younger.

I don't think that it solves our issues but I'd probably do it. Just the fact that Rubio is about to enter his athletic prime makes it appealing.

Wolves would not entertain any package for Rubio that centers around Monta Ellis. the only thing we have that would not make them laugh and hang up is Turner (and PG obviously, but duh), and that's obviously not happening.

Not sure Rubio is valued in MN quite as much as some of you think. The persistent shooting woes, injuries & contract being the primary points of frustration. Given that Levine & Wiggins are not exactly elite shooters either means the 'Wolves probably would entertain offers for Rubio. Having said that Monta would not move the needle at all. Offer up GHill & the 1st you might get a look but not sure why the Pacers would consider that either.

Truly wouldn't surprise me if Rubio & the number 5 picked ended up being part of a bigger trade that includes high level veteran player that is a dependable perimeter shooter.

If Wolves fans are any indication, the Wolves value Rubio a LOT. Maybe just a step below their young core, or even as a part of that young core - he's only 26 after all. He's their George Hill basically. Outsiders keep thinking that the Wolves need to upgrade their PG spot, while fans understand how much better the team plays when Rubio is on the court.

Yuck...I'd much rather trade for the #5 pick.
