    Default King's Island Haunted?

I've read many stories over the years about King's Island supposedly being haunted. Even from people who were former workers at the park. A famous TV show even did an investigation there. There have been a few deaths at the park so even if they are stories they are based on fact somewhat. Scroll down to the post by April Adams in the link below. Creepy story. I know the exact place she is talking about.(sure some of you do too) The back of White Water Canyon is definitely back in the woods quite a ways. Read about Tower Johnny as well.( a high school grad who died on the tower in 1983).

A little off topic, but let me just say something about all the rumors passed down through the years about ride deaths at KI:

The important thing to remember is that ride accidents at big theme parks RARELY happen. Your chance of lightning death is way higher. Most accidents are riders bypassing safety rules. In fact, despite all the stories of fatalities at King's Island, only one happened on a ride and the rider was intoxicated and at least partially at fault. Other deaths were due to a pond becoming electrified(two people died including a maintenance worker who jumped in to help) , a worker getting mauled by a Lion(got out of safety vehicle to relieve himself), and the High School kid climbing inside the tower that was off limits.

I feel way safer on a coaster than I do driving down an interstate.

Not sure it's haunted but I bet Bigfoot spends time there....
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Still think the party poopers should stay out of this thread. It's a fun topic at the very least. Amusement parks are creepy places when they are deserted or at night. I read stories of maintenance workers at KI who dreaded walking to the front of the park from the back of the park at night when they didn't catch a ride. There have been a lot of weird happenings there. Probably not ghosts or paranormal, but who are you to say?

    Yeah, no reason for snark

We get it, you think we're being stupid to even entertain the thought of this

I can be snarky about things you may or may not believe in, too, but I'm not going to be

Anyway, it's an interesting topic for sure, I searched "Kings Island Haunted" on YouTube and found some videos, nothing too great, found one video that was just text and telling the major stories from the park, like Tower Johnny and such

Not sure I believe in individual spirits, but I do believe that we are all energy that is a part of the collective unconscious or creative force of the universe. What happens to our energy when we die? That is the big question, but given the capacity and still unmapped and under-utilized areas of brain function, it's not out of the realm of possibility that certain people could pick up on energy. Pretty certain that people have experienced "ghosts", but what are they? Visual hallucinations caused by electromagnetic fields, psychic ability picking up on leftover energy, spirits of the dead or something else. People get upset because it doesn't fit in with what their view of the world should be.

Probably is at least paranormally affected to an extent. That many 'sudden' deaths. I imagine the possibly lingering spirits are most likely not evil though. These deaths are unfortunate accidents. It's the places where murders occur that you have to worry about.

I love one of the comments on youtube that said "if I were a ghost and I still had to walk everywhere, I would be pissed". LMAO! This video looks more like reflections or an issue with a lens to me.

There was a car come loose from a ride back in the early 80's, a few were killed, I thought. I think the ride was called "the bat". I remember because I had just rode it a few weeks earlier. It was closed and tore down afterwards.

Nope...all urban legend. I heard the same stories as you back in the day and believed it for a long time. I even rode the Bat back when it was new. I've done enough research and heard from enough park employees to 100% say that nobody was killed on The Bat. Another legend was that somebody died on King Cobra. False as well.

Didn't somebody die when a car came loose from The Bat, or am I misremembering?

Did you hear about the Astronaut Scott Kelly, who just returned from outer space and had grown two full inches in height?
