Default Tied up and coming home, baby!

We now own homecourt. We have a series.

I said this after the first game, and I still think it's true:

You know what today's game reminded me of? Not game 1 against the Celts from 2 years ago. It reminded me of Game 1 of the Finals in 2000. The Pacers finally got over the hump in the ECFs. They showed up in LA and got smoked. Reggie in particular had one of the worst nights of his career. Then they bounced back and made a good series of it.

That's what I saw tonight. I still think we can win this thing.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

I knew we were gonna win tonight. But I started to second guess myself early on with the horrible turnovers and bad rebounding. These guys just had more heart and soul tonight than the Celtics.

What did Ricky Davis say in Game 1? Oh yeah...

With less than a minute left in the second quarter, Ricky Davis turned to his teammates and said, "Let's get the broom out."

I'd like to take that broom and smack him with it!

We have to come home and play our game.

We can't get too high; we have to do what got us into the playoffs, which is in large part what won us the game tonight:

Did you see Pierce in the third talking to his teammates on the bench?

    His overconfidence is our advantage.

This team showed MAJOR resilience tonight. We were down and looking tired, things were not going our way. They thought it was over. Now we have a series and they've been humbled and have to come to our house.

    We have a series...

I'm loving this, we have 2 days till the next game and that will give our guys some needed rest. All the momentum is back on our side, our guys need to take care of our house the next 2 games.

This was a combination of grit and luck. There is no way we should be getting killed on the boards like we are.

Reggie's leadership on these next two games is going to be much needed. He's gotta keep these guys focused and determined on these next two games.

I'll be more confident if Dale shows up next game. He was terrible today.

Solid win tonight. Our veterans, Reggie and AJ in particular, stepped up and made plays.

We can't afford to play our bench right now.

We're going to win, or lose, this series with our big guns.

I'm not sure how much they've got left, but Rick might as well ride them.

Luckily Gill did not play tonight, good move by Carlisle

Also a good move by Rick taking Dale out and playing JJ the last 6 minutes of the game, that spread the floor and allowed AJ, Jax to get some easier shots
