I think we will struggle early and get going in the Big Ten. We have one of the deepest teams in the Big Ten.

Ok the closer we get to November the more worried I am. I just do not want to see a starting lineup with Blackmon/RJ/OG/Hartman/Bryant. I think that will be the default lineup of Crean. How much is DeVonte Green and Newkirk going to contribute? Where does Morgan fit in the rotation?

If Hartman isn't improved in lateral quickness and closeout ability I don't want him dragging the defense down. At the winery this past week Newkirk was asked by Crean if he was the new starting point guard (Crean saying it was up to him). Newkirk said yeah. I think ROJO and Blackmon will start but I don't want to see a repeat of two years ago with Yogi/RoJo/Blackmon starting lineup.

Going in I want to see Newkirk and Morgan give the OG effect off the bench. Defense, stability, and toughness were vital to his role last year. I think we have a potential to be a better defensive team than even last year.

I am crossing my fingers that De'Ron Davis is good enough right away to start over Collin Hartman. Otherwise I don't mind that lineup, assuming RoJo is the primary ball handler and not JBJII.

Nice to see some national recognition for a Hoosier. Mark Schlabach of ESPN put Dan Feeney on his (basically) preseason All-American First Team.

Looks like common sense is prevailing for the much less historic Notre Dame-Michigan football rivalry; Kelly and Harbaugh are both on board and it sounds like they could renew playing as early as 2018. Now only if Indiana and Kentucky could grow the **** up...

Honestly a lot of love for Hartman/Davis possibly as the starting 4, but I wouldn't rule out Morgan either.

Wow. I just now found out that Neil Reed had passed in 2012. I sure don't remember hearing about it. Way too young at 36.

No Yogi in the NBA draft. I guess that was kind of anti-climatic.

Nor Troy. But Yogi has signed on to play with the Nets in Summer League and Troy Williams is playing for the Suns' SL team.

Yep....they will get their shots. Even if it doesn't pan out, they can play in Europe and drive sports cars, eat great food, and have beautiful women feed them grapes. There are worse things that can happen.

Yogi got a partially guaranteed contract with Brooklyn.

Troy played really well at Summer League, and I saw a tweet saying somewhere a few teams are interested in signing him to a guaranteed contract.

I was at the IHSAA championship game back in March. Crean and Cal were both there to watch New Albany phenom Romeo Langdord. Cal was sitting in a suite right behind me. At one point, Crean went to the suite and the two of them chatted for at least an hour. I don't know why in the hell they can't work something out. They're both just being stubborn and trying to placate their fan bases who are more obsessed with trying to beat the other guy in negotiations than playing the game. What a shame for a once great rivalry. That type of crap is what I hate about college sports. In the pros, you're forced to play each other.

UCLA's SB Nation site is a running joke, but this is just too funny, IU's clearly talking about the conference*

UPDATE: In an email, the IU Athletic Department is claiming that the banner in the middle that says Best in the B1G is meant to be extended to the tweet as well.

No ****? I mean, even our athletic department couldn't possibly be dumb enough to claim we had more national titles than anyone else.

#wellactually with our outright B1G title last season, we now have 22, and Purdue has 22. Sorry.

that was my point. but yeah, I guess they did say #1, not "most," so semantics I suppose
