That shocked me too! I wonder who will be the first to say we should pick him up?

    At the expence of whom?

Hope noone suggests we pick him up. Last guy I would want back. Watching that spur game last night when he was in during garbage time he was just terrible. Worse than ever.

    Wow.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

    Not too surprising to me.

Mercer is just not very good at any aspect of his game. His shooting is streaky at best. His defense is fair. And he can't do anything else.

And some of you thought the Jazz would surely take him off our hands

remember how he was getting big minutes at the start of the season? He mustve been *****in about his minutes and just degraded into lockeroom cancer. I mean thats like 6mil they just paid him to get off the team. Even though he was in ITs doghouse last year, last season ended with Mercer all of a sudden becoming our PG in the celts series (a big reason we lost and the reason he was fired imo), maybe IT will get him.

I think the Pacers should pick him up, he would be a good fit. He could become the backup PG, remember the playoff series against the Nets?

Just kidding - I never liked him as a Pacer. He is a classic case of a guy who has all of the talent in the world but he's too lazy to work on his game. He is as talented as they come, but the problem is 90% of the guys in the NBA are talented. The people who work on their game are the ones who stick in this league.

Atlanta just waived Glover, maybe the Hawks would look at him.

Everyone on Toronto is injured, the Raptors?

Orlando is starting Stevenson, could Mercer be worse?

Clearly his value was not as a player but as an ending deal. The Jazz said clearly that they needed players with ending deals so that they could trade those players for good players with longer contracts.

Once the trade deadline passed any value that Mercer had vanished.

Man thats got to suck. He has got to be looking in the mirror thinking man they would rather pay me to go away than have me arround for the rest of the year. I hope he saved his pennies because he will never get another deal like that again.

I've been trying to convince my 9-5 that they would be better off doing that with me.

Does anyone else remember that Slick's biggest criticism of Isiah was he didn't play Mercer enough? Guess Pop must be an awful coach too.

I thought it was that Croshere didn't play enough?

Guess Carlisle's an awful coach too.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!
