I keep hearing about Payton leaving LA. Where do you think he'd end up?

If we prove to be a winner with a legitimate shot at a title next season, is there any chance he'd come here? Or is he still on that "only a west coast team" trip?
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

GAry wants to run. Thats his game. RUn, run, and run some more. I dont think hed be a good fit for Indiana, nor do I think h's WANT to play a halfcourt style.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

I'd much rather have a center.

Yeah, but both of those guys (Barry and Payton) could be available for the exception.

Getting a center probably means trading Al.

If for any reason Kidd leaves/is traded, I could see Payton in a Nets uniform.

    OK.

    NOT.

And Benders continued emergence would make that need even less. (no he's not a center, but he is a 7' shot blocker.
I hope they give Primoz a chance before they make any move in that area.

Oh yeh, Al's not going anywhere.
If you can get a legit C for 3+ years by trading Al, you do it. There is no alternative.

Thinking that Bender might be our solution on the interior is a joke.

Even if he could give us some minutes in the paint next year, he is NOT the tough-minded big body that we need to battle defensively and on the boards.

Trading Al for a legit center is a no-brainer. Hell, throw Pollard in the mix, too.

And..... hope that we can sign Brent Barry to part or all of the MLE.

Those changes plus continued improvement in Jones, Tinsley, Artest, Croshere and possibly Bender might be enough for the Pacers to turn the corner.
