One thing we've got to do in order to win this is take care of our defensive boards and compete on the 50/50 balls. They've already started to make inroads there less than 5 minutes in.
It's a big enough challenge for us just to play at their pace/style, we've got to get control of those hustle things, but so far we don't look very energized.
Megablunder #1 of the day on Sheehey.
Getting some breaks here on foul no calls ...
Hollowell off by a mile
Need Watford to heat up here.
They're getting entirely too much penetration...we're getting entirely just enough Remy A...
Going inside-out is giving Wiscy some problems, as long as we keep hitting the jumpers.
Two on Bergren - I'll take that.
The goal on defense seems to be to take away their perimeter game, but we're allowing too much penetration.
Terrible pass by Yogi there.
We should really be ahead by about 6...missed FTs, the Sheehey offensive GT, some bad passes.
One thing that hurts us against Wiscy is our complete lack of physicality inside. Zeller tries, but he's more finesse. Watford is more of a perimeter guy.
Extra possession for them from off. board gives them a 3.
Wisconsin is such a pain in the *** when they're hitting shots.
Bottom line is we don't have enough toughness especially inside & we can't play a sustained half - court game on offense. That's what this half has looked like, as we had a chance to establish a small cushion, but instead we find ourselves down and with only 22 pts.
I honestly think we're moving the ball around a little too much. We've had some decent looks, and against a team like Wisconsin you sometimes just have to take what you can get.
If Wisconsin is going to hit every damn shot they put up then this is going to be a long game.
Wisconsin owns us and it drives me crazy.
They own us. Football and basketball.
If Wisconsin shoots 50% they're virtually unbeatable.
