Good bye Monta
@MisterRudolph: League sources have told me a Dwight Howard trade is not coming. Magic on the verge of blockbuster deal.
@MisterRudolph: I will say this, if I was forced to pick a team the Magic deal w/ I'd put my money on the Warriors. That would be where I'd expect a deal
@SeanDeveney: Pacers are among the teams that have asked about Bobcats' DJ Augustin.
@SeanDeveney: If Bobcats deal DJ Augustin, source says they'd need to dump a bad contract with him: Maggette or Diop. Ty Thomas' contract is untradeable.
Count me in for some DJ Augustin
Now NO is in the deal, Okafor or Kaman to GS?
@MisterRudolph: Sources say Magic, Warriors & Hornets are discussing 3-team deal that would send Ellis and others to Magic. Nothing imminent at this point
@MisterRudolph: Magic players said to be discussed: Redick, Q.Richardson, Turkoglu, Anderson and Orton. Hornets believed to be unloading Kaman in the deal
I got really excited for the first tweet I love DJ's game. But no way I trade for him and a bad contract(unless they give us their pick which is not going to happen) because we will have to pat DJ this off season. But I would really like the combo of DJ starting and DC off the bench the pg position would be a hell of a lot better but not for that price,
I still say wait for the draft and make trades then.
@MisterRudolph: Nothing is imminent, but discussion are said to be ongoing.
@MisterRudolph: Discussed deal would send Ellis, Dorell Wright and Andris Biedrins to the Magic, sources said.
Man I would love to get that package for Monta Ellis, if we only had cap space to make the deal work .....
@MisterRudolph: For the record, I agree w/ any Nets fans that believe that this could be a play to get the Nets to up their offer for Dwight, absolutely
@MisterRudolph: It can also be a lot of talk to make Dwight think more is being done to improve the team. But it's clear teams are going all-in
@MisterRudolph: Remember, a deal isn't a deal until it's done. We'll all have to wait and see.
I don't know if you are being sarcastic here....but capspace isn't what the Warriors are looking for when moving Monta.....they are not only looking to move Monta...but get a Starting Quality Center.
Realistically, Monta+Dorell makes some sense. Dorell doesn't fit in with Mark Jackson's offense. If anything...I'd love to get Dorell Wright...but I don't know if we run the type of offense that fits his style. He gives you the defense and 3pt shooting...but isn't the 2nd unit scorer that we need.
I kept wondering where this thread was, lol, its hidden. Well done.
Yeah I was trying to be sarcastic, I'm just saying that if you look at Orlando's package all they are sending to GS and NO is crap, I'm 100% sure that we can do better than that.
We could get Monta+Biedrins GS gets Kaman+Foster expiring and NO a pick from us, that's better than what Orlando is offering I think.
The Nets literally don't have any other assets to give up.
If the hold up is Marshon Brooks....while they are willing to give two future 1st round picks and Brooks....they'd be stupid to hold up the deal because of him. If Dwight doesn't come...then DWill is gone.
I wouldn't mind getting DJ, but there's no way I take Diop and his horrible contract. Maybe maggette. He's definitely overpaid at 10.2 and 10.9 over the next two years, but he at least has some in the tank and is decent offensively.
@sam_amick: I repeat: Don't expect Dwight Howard-obsessed Warriors owner Joe Lacob to help Orlando keep Dwight Howard in any way. That is all.
@YannisHW: Building on what @sam_amick just tweeted, especially don't expect the impossible-to-deal-with Hornets to facilitate anything major where...
@YannisHW: They don't get an incredible return.
@TheRocketGuy: HIGHLY unlikely Monta lands in Orlando to help them keep Dwight.
With Otis Smith, we underestimate the sneakiness!!
