And he is ejected.
And he is ejected.
Yogi is smaller than Hulls.
thats why I love Victors game he plays with so much energy. He just needs to play a little smarter he should become a great defender in time he has the ability.
size has nothing to do with it Yogi is athletic as hell and is a much better pg in really every aspect of the game.
Holy crap, I have the Big Ten Network! I can actually watch the game in HD! :yay:
Zeller is getting comfortable and it shows.
Zeller is a man amongst boys right now. Can't wait to see how he does against quality competition.
We look better than I thought we would.
Sheehey with flu like symptoms won't play in the second half. IU up by 24.
The defense is pretty "meh." Offense looks good though, especially on the break.
Stony Brook is shooting less than 40% from the floor.
They're getting solid looks, though.
Never can please IU fans :)
No sir. :)
I still can't help but laugh every time I look at Tom Arnol...er...Crean.
I want 100!
Oh well, guess I'll just settle for a 30-point win. :D
That was unbelievable.
Zeller is the most fundamentally sound freshman I've ever seen.
Sheehey and Oladipo have made huge strides.
Offense looked amazing.
Elston did exactly what we need Elston to do--hit open shots and give us solid minutes off the bench. X factor.
I've said it 100 times, but Yogi Ferrell is going to make a Zeller-like impact on this team. We are missing a true point guard. Yogi gives us that next year.
Hulls had the worst game I've seen out of him maybe ever. I'm not concerned, he will be fine.
Verdell played under control, didn't try to do too much. Really, really pleased with him tonight.
Pritchard still hasn't learned how to play defense without fouling.
Roth is an assassin.
Etherington might be an assassin.
Remy looks like a freshman, but I see a little Oladipo in him.
Overall, nothing to complain about tonight. Better than I could have hoped for. I am overjoyed to finally have a real team to root for.
Tonight was the first time in four years where we have a clear talent mismatch for our opponent.
What's this stuff about Zeller getting punched in the balls? He got PUNCHED or it was like a flying hand in a tussle for a loose ball thing?
No the guy clearly punched him as he tried to run around him.
Physical game between Zeller and the SB kid or something? I mean, there's never an excuse to punch a guy in the balls lol, but just completely unprovoked? Zeller schooling him or something?
Not really, from what I remember the game was tied? Or IU was up 22-21...It was just one of their big guys off the bench. Zeller was just D'ing him up and the guy was trying to get around and threw a quick little punch to Zeller's groin. Zeller doubled over, but IU was able to force a turnover or grab a rebound, and there was a foul on SB on the rebound or turnover which caused one of the officials to ask for a review to see if Zeller had actually been punched in the groin on purpose. Upon review, they determined it was intentional and the guy was kicked from the game and IU got 4 straight free throws and it started an 18-4 run that basically killed their chances.
Kudos to Zeller as well because he kept his cool after getting punched and did not react, just kept playing basketball. I thought it was a little weird that it was a bench big man that did it, but maybe he's just an idiot.
Bizarro stat of the night, VJIII, 7 assists, 1 turnover.
If they play this well the rest of the year, we are in for a real treat! Zeller already looks like a veteran and he's got some quicks...and armored balls...
Great start. See where things go from here. Can't think of a time in recent memory where we would have been capable of beating anybody by that much.
