I Van Der Beek rolleyes the both of you!
Milwaukee is losing by the way.
This is something that really makes me feel like Bird is going to get something done during the break.Quote:

An accurate statement would be that we have a lot of wing players. Not so much talent. I'll give you potential with Paul George, and I'll give you talent with Danny. But after that, it's really nothing to be excited about.
If Dunleavy is still a Pacer after the deadline, I'll be surprised. I don't have any idea what's going to happen, but I'll be surprised if nothing happens. Tonight's game was another brutal example of this team lacking a serious talent. In OT, Hibbert couldn't get a quality shot, Danny struggles to get open even with screens and he has no chance off the dribble. Collison is quick enough, but he's struggled with his shot lately.
I guess what I'm frustrated with is that the team is talking about playoffs, and changing the identity, and flowers and sunshine -- all of that is great, I'm happy for it -- but they still don't have the goods to deliver in the last 5 minutes of a tight game. Of course, the standard response is "Paul George is the answer! Just wait 2 years and he'll be a superstar!" The trouble with that is that Bird, Vogel, and the buzz around this team are all talking THIS year.
It's just frustrating, and it's why I think Bird makes a move for a wing. I think he expects better than this. You can point at the Lakers losing to Charlotte and Cleveland and say "it happens to everyone, it's ok." Or you can look at the fact that we just lost to a team that by all accounts, we should have beaten and we need to beat if we want to stay in the playoff race. I know they're tired, and I know Hibbert had a great game, and I know that this post is way more negative than I normally go with, but I would be lying if I said that I thought our "talent" at the wing positions is good enough to actually compete in the playoffs.
what happened to the pistons fan base. im sure some of it may have to do with economic times but there was less than 10k in the stands.
missed the 2nd half tonight, i had a feeling after the start we had we may not win. stuckey was ungaurdable by our point g's.
like i said, i missed the 2nd half but DC has struggled the past two games. hopefully he benefits from the ASB.
pacers just don't have a leader. it's as simple as that.
Zero excuse to lose a game when Granger and Roy combine for 57 points. Bench brigade and support does not get a cookie tonight.
can anyone give me a summary of how rush played in the 2nd half. missed it. did PG24 return to the game?
We suck. Collison needs to go... he can't hit a shot. Granger needs to go, he's a black hole and a turnover machine. Hansbrough needs to go... he's damn near a black hole plus he can't shoot. Hibbert is bad, yea he had 29 but his defense is sub-par and he's a black hole. Vogel needs to go... 2 4th quarter leads against the Heat pissed away and a loss to the lowly Pistons? Not only that, but Dahntay hardly even played tonight. He was the only guy playing D tonight. What a joke. Get them out of here. While I'm at it, Larry definitely needs to go. Collison, Rush, Hansbrough, McRoberts, Hibbert, Price, Lance, Posey, Ford, and Solomon... really Larry? You suck. The only good players we have are George and Dahntay. It takes more than two players to be a good team.
Collison is a 2nd year player. Collison is a 2nd year player. I'll say it again... Collison is a 2nd year player. And at that he's playing the hardest position on the floor for his 3rd coach in 1.5 seasons. GIVE HIM A BREAK! I'm not a darn bit worried about him. We've seen him play enough games looking like a 5 year player to know he's better than this. I don't think he's dumb so I'm sure he realizes his potential too. He will be fine. Players make mistakes and the better players learn from them. He's a "better player".
As for this loss... It happens. Can't win every game. We've been winning and now they see what they need to do to win. Now that they lost, they see what they need to not do. Learn from this and come back stronger. We'll be just fine.
I just watched the game on DVR but haven't gone through the thread. The only thing I really learned from the game is this:
Solo != Foster
Yeah....with a squad this young we are going to have plenty of growing pains. A lot of these guys are still learning what it takes to be a pro. Consistency night in and night out will come with time. We have got to get to the mindset that it all starts on the defensive end. As bad as we played tonight a few key stops and that game was ours.
