i caught a bunch of episodes in a variety of Law & Order marathons (originale on TNT, SVU & CI on USA)
All day Marathon of biggest loser season 2
First time I've watched any biggest loser competition. I'm pumped to lose some weight.
Watched some of the CSI marathon on New Year's Eve and some of the Law & Order this morning.
Saw Chappelle Show, Hell's Kitchen and some Seinfeld.
I haven't watched much TV at all lately, but I did purchase season 3 of "Lost" and season 4 of "The Wire" so I'm looking forward to watching both of those.
Not sure which one I will watch first.
I'll say one thing, Marlo Stansfield is just evil. There's no effort to humanize him like Avon and Stringer, he's just a cold-hearted SOB.
Kegboy, so you think season 3 is better than season 4. I'll see what I think - I'm a sucker though for stories involving schools and kids, so I don't know if that will make it too painful
He's the next representation of entropy in the urban community. Guys like Avon and String were just guys who just saw no other choice than the streets to make it. But like Bunk once said to Omar, there was a code they operated with. Yeah, they slanged and banged, but they did it to give their family a chance. They did it to get out of the struggle (String more than Avon, but him too in his own way). Even Barksdale's professional killers like WeeBey and Slim had principles. They had good-natured sides to them. They honored family. They honored Sundays.
But these new cats like Marlo, Chris and Snoop? They just psychopaths. Their lives have been so difficult (because of the failed community they were raised in, I think Simon would argue) and their family and social networks are so disintegrated, backwards or simply non-existent that they have nothing and they embrace nothing. The only thing they could ever embrace was the "game." And they don't do it for any other reason but to do it.
The whole series is basically about the breakdown and utter failure of all our urban community systems. Season 4 shows that in a coldest and harshest way yet. And with vulnerable and innocent kids shown as the lead protagonists, it makes it all that more depressing to watch.
Season 4 is the best thing I've ever seen. (And that's including the Godfathers, Casablanca, Anchorman and all the other film classics.)
Season one episode one. Wow I am going to like this show hahaha. I downloaded what I thought was season 1 of the wire. But I dont think it is.
This episode was someone on trial for murder and the jury voted not guilty when a female witness claimed that the defendent wasnt there. I stopped watching after that because I think the first episode would be different. Anyone that watches the Wire can you confirm this it he first episode or the first of another season?
Alright I just wanted to make sure that I wasnt stepping into another season without watching them one by one. I will most certainly get to watching them JayRedd
Who was the Dexter Fan?
I ended up watching 4 or 5 episodes last night. Very good show.
You mentioned Chris and Snoop. I at least empathize with Chris becauseSpoiler:
And at least he and Snoop are generally cheerful, for being mass murders and all. Marlo's just empty.
Another episode of Dexter.
Obviously haven't watched it yet, because it hasn't started (pretty sure), but I noticed Summer Glau got another sci-fi gig in the Sarah Connor Terminator spin-off thing. This is a good thing, I hope.
She was so cool in Firefly, and so depressing in that over-her-head trailer tramp role in The Unit. Competent, but depressing.
New Series Premiere. It was alright they need less Hulk Hogan and Ali and less talking to the contestants. It is a waste of time when they could just compete more. I liked the format of the old AG and this one needs to be retooled in order to survive. Hulk Hogan looked like a bum wearing black jeans and a black sleeveless shirt and he added nothing to the show. He said brother every other word and his questions were obvious and the answers were terrible. Focus on the competition and not on the contestants tired stories and lame responses.
Dexter Season 1 episode 7
How I Met Your Mother Season 3 Episodes 1-5 have to say it dropped the ball a little bit in Season 3...still good though.
Started watching season 3 of "Lost". decided to do that before "The Wire" season 4.
The first two episodes are not very good, but I heard all about how the first 8 episodes of season 3 aren't any good at all. So I know I just need to get through them, because the season then gets a lot better, and yes I know the season finale is a shocker, but I know what the shocker is - that ois one bad thing about waiting for the DVD's to come out - you hear and read things.
Journeyman-The final episode.
That was a great episode. DAMN I can't believe the cancelled that show. It was getting REALLY good. They put in a few plot twists there at the end thatw ould have made a great mid season cliff hanger. Now we'll never know how it ends....
Watched several Paula's Party and Paulas Home Cooking.
The rest of Dexter season 1. A very good show. I have started to download season 2.
The Price is Right. I like it being hosted by Drew Carey. he get into it like he does on that Power of 10 show. I think at times he wants to really get on the people that do dumb things, not just poke fun at them.
