Diem has been very solid but I don't think he's one of the top RT's in the game, and thus shouldn't be paid as one...

Our defense still sucks. And we are still going to lose to the Patriots.

Our defense doesn't "suck".

Our coaching staff "sucks".

Our coaching staff sucks more, our defense still sucks. It can be better

Sure, it can be better. So could our offense. But every time push came to shove, our defense made plays and put the team in a good position to win games. The offense fell apart in New England, not the defense. I can't call a 3-6 game in the 3rd quarter a defensive meltdown. Sure, they gave up a bunch of rushing yards after that. But they had been on the field the entire game. No defense can play well when it has to play 42 minutes.

That I can agree with. And I don't really blame the offense entirely either. The calls that the staff made were simply TERRIBLE. I mean, we didn't ONCE try to exploit their secondary, just all these conservative-*** throws that people dropped. And way too much running of the football.

And everyone saw again why I had nightmares of "Dungy ball" for weeks after he was hired.....

And NOT the sexy kind of Dungy ball....

Who would you think could put this team over the top? He HAS come in here to change the defense, and it HAS improved. Do you think maybe it is Moore who should be replaced?

I think we need at least one run blocking guard on offense and a play making DT.

Tue, 22 Feb 2005 08:54:51 -0800

Updating a previous report, ESPN.com's John Clayton reports the contract signed by Indianapolis Colts OT Ryan Diem was a seven-year deal worth $36 million and includes signing and option bonuses in excess of $10 million. The new deal will play Diem $19 million over the first three years of the contract.

Fascinating.

What's fascinating?

The fact that btown owes two cookies to people?
That Suave still has that avatar?
That we resigned Diem?

All of the above. Plus, the Colts front-ended Diem's deal, which means they're at least contemplating trying to avoid salary cap hell in five years. It shall be interesting.

Does anyone else realize that the Titans owe Steve McNair a 50 million roster bonus by March 2nd under his current contract?

Yeah that's part of the reason why they were 27 million over the cap...
