This f'n sucks.... missed free throws. Reggie gets an open look at a 3 on a fast break but decides to just throw the ball out of bounds instead....

With the missed free throws and all the turnovers so far this season... is it really all that hard to believe that the Pacers are a .500 club.

Hicks

Sprained foot they say now. Great.

The damning thing is, we're doing SOME things good again that we haven't been doing, but they're just not paying off. Stretches of good D, answered by a rain of 3's. Foster draws a charge, they ignore him. Get to the FT line, we miss them.

You know what I loved about that line up we put on the court for the sixers last shot, a slow fat midget was on a 6-7 small forward known to shoot the lights out. And what do you know Korver gets the ball breaks AJ's ankles AJ falls 5 feet down the line Korver wide open shoot SWISH. Great call Rick on that line up you idiot.

Team high 24 pts on 8-15 shooting doesn't do much for you, huh? I guess 2 missed free throws in the last minute of the game tend to cancel that out (admittedly 2 very big misses).

There is no excuse for putting AJ on Korver that was the dumbest move of the year. That one beats the dumb move in the last game.

No he was suposedly on Korver. I could see how you would think he was not on the floor since Korver was so wide open it looked like NO ONE was guarding him.

Dr Huxtable
01-31-2005, 09:53 PM
I only had the game on radio, so I don't know this: was AJ on Korver the whole play, or did Korver cut away from his defender and AJ had to pick him up? If that was the case then you can't blame Rick.

SoupIsGood
01-31-2005, 09:56 PM
I think AJ on Korver was a good move. Who really expected him to make that move, Korver hadn't been doing that often.

Oh well, maybe that will make the elusive NBA title seem that much sweeter to him and guys of his ilk (when it finally comes).

I didn't expect them to win this game without JT anyway. There is just too big a drop off with him out of the game. They actually did better than I expected.

Also, how about Jeff Foster making a layup once in a while? (I will now lay off my fellow Texans)

Jermaniac
01-31-2005, 09:59 PM
AJ was on Korver that last play, Korver got the ball and faked AJ out of his damn shoes, AJ didnt even get a hand up for the shot. Reggie or JJ should have been on him.

I'm not upset about this anymore. After about the 3rd game of a losing streak, it get's like this. You just start waiting for the next win. Also, we have been playing better, less stagnant of an offense. The fact Rick is adapting keeps me happy.

Maybe one of those other 85 coaches sitting on the bench with him can give him a clue that he should play Freddie at the point more then AJ next game.

Dr Huxtable

Yeah, if Tinsley is out next game (which is Wed against Toronto I think), we should try starting Freddie at PG.

SoupIsGood
01-31-2005, 10:09 PM
He tried it this game didn't he. I have grown to like how Rick adjusts, I think it is perfect. Too slow for the fans, but probably too quick for his personal taste. He doesn't make rash decisions about changing things, and he doesn't stay with what doesn't work.

Dr Huxtable

I liked the way they played 2nd half. Even though they lost, they played pretty good on D, better in stretches than I've seen in a few games, seemed high energy like they were really working at it. If they play their defense that way consistantly they will win alot more than losing.

The end of the game thread comments after a loss need to be taken less seriously. People, including me if I happened to be here, are just venting and since our spouses could care less what we have to say about a game, we vent here.
