Now just activate Brewer and put AJ on the injured list and I would join the sunshine brigade.

I am not advocating that Brewer get AJ minutes. I want those to go to Kenny for now to see how we do with 2 point guards rather than a point and a short 2.

I just want Brewer to be available for games like the NO game. If there was ever a game that was well suited for a Brewer moment that was the game.

Ragnar, your hatred for AJ is worse than my hatred of Tinsley last season.

I just want to see maybe I am wrong (I doubt it) but I think the team would run better with Kenny as the backup than with AJ.

I was right about it running better with Tins as the starter and I am pretty sure I am right about the backup position too.

Its not so much that I hate AJ its that he is not really a pg and I dont like seeing shooting guards handle the ball. I would be going nuts if Reggie (My all time favorite Pacer) was the backup pg. You would think I hated him. Give AJ backup shooting guard time but not at the pg.

All I am saying is please for gods sake try Kenny at the backup and see what happens. I predict that when he does (I think something will force him too just like he had to put Tins back in) we will be a better team for it.

The difference is that if he were traded I would never have to mention him again. I dont ***** about Travis Worst. I am reall happy he is gone.

I was just teasing. Besides, I still b!+ch about Worst a/k/a "Pound" (short for "ALL HE DOES IS JUST STAND THERE AND POUND THE D@M# BALL!). For that matter, I still b!+ch about the Chuck Person trade. :D

How can I respect Ragnar and Jay as much as I do and yet to this day still wish Travis Best was the Pacers starting point guard.

I'll grudgingly give you that he was the best defensive guard we've had since Dudley Bradley. But, man, he was soooo bad at the offensive end of the floor. ;)

I should wonder the same in reverse. How is it that I still respect your opinion while you clearly are smoking a crack pipe if you think Travis would make a good or even adequate starting pg in the NBA.

He is total crap IMO if he were given the starting job here that would be it for me. I would swear off the NBA all together.

I think the pg position is one of the most important positions in the game and to think that anyone would want that guy running the offense just sends shivers down my spine.

The thing I dont get UB is that you clearly know your stuff about the other positions why is it that you think undersised shooting guards should be pg's?

Do you not see the inpact of a real pg? By that I mean a guy who has timing in his passes rather than passing at the end of the shot clock hoping that the other guy is ready. I want a guy who can read his team mates and see when they will be ready for the pass.

We have that in Tinsley I know he is not all the way there yet but it is evident in his game that he will be the pg I want to see him become.

Best put forth a lot of effort in his defense.... and as long as he was guarding other 5'2" guards he was great at the stopping or slowing them..... ;)

IOW- Best's defensive abilities really only shown thru on smaller guards (his own size) IMHO.

Travis could only do two things: he could keep the opposing PG from penetrating - and he could do this as well as anyone I've seen. And he could hit spot-up jumpers with some regularity.

Yeah, if the other guard took him to the post it was about as brutal as his offense.

Maybe I still think of Travis as fondly as I do is because I thought he got jipped out of being the starting point guard by Isiah two years in a row.

Ragnar, I think point guard is the most important position on the court. Our views on point guards are not entirely different. I'd give my first born son to have Jason Kidd on the Pacers.

I wonder if New Jersey would do that deal? :D

Clearly Jason Kidd is the one pg we agree on.

I don't. I have never even remotely thought that Best could be a 82 game starter in this league let alone the starter for the Pacers. He is a system PG and was only a semi-success under Bird. He simply didn't fit into Brown's, Thomas's, Cartwright's, or Riley's systems and as a matter of speaking Nelson's system now.
