A win and the Broncos are in! ...whatever. This game will be a little weird, since many of the Colts starters will be sitting part of this game out. Here's to no injuries. After all, if the Colts lose today they can simply turn around and throttle Denver next weekend.

Peyton could break 50 TDs on the year, and depending upon the number of yards Shaun Alexander gains in the Seattle game, Edge could try to run for the league rushing title today.

DENVER (Ticker) -- The Denver Broncos may not see much of Peyton Manning on Sunday. But they could get a heavy dose in another week.

The Broncos and Indianapolis Colts could be meeting for the first time in consecutive weeks when the teams face each other in the regular-season finale.

But before that has any chance of happening, the Broncos need a win in order to qualify for the playoffs. They also could punch their postseason ticket if they lose and if Buffalo, Jacksonville and Baltimore also all lose.

Denver is seeking its second straight and sixth playoff appearance in Mike Shanahan's 10 seasons as coach. Shanahan guided the franchise to its only Super Bowl titles in 1998 and 1999.

"You've got to concentrate on your job," Shanahan said. "You never know what is going to happen. But it's sure nice to know that you're in control."

There are no such scenarios for the Colts, who are riding an eight-game winning streak and already have locked up the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs.

Indianapolis also could have the luxury of giving Manning, who set the single-season record with his 49th touchdown pass last week, limited playing time.

If the teams do meet again next week, the contest would take place in the RCA Dome.

Last season, the teams met twice in a three-week span with both contests taking place in Indianapolis.

In the first meeting, the Broncos amassed 227 of their 465 total yards on the ground and controlled the ball for nearly 45 minutes in a dominating 31-17 victory.

But Manning, who had been 0-3 in his career in the playoffs, had a postseason performance for the ages in the second matchup against the Broncos. He threw for 377 yards and five touchdowns as the Colts rolled to a 41-10 victory.

Manning's 2004 season has been for ages. He surpassed Dan Marino's single-season record of 48 TD passes set in 1984 in last week's 34-31 overtime win over San Diego, and has thrown for a league-high 4,551 yards.

Manning's receiving trio of Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Brandon Stokley are all over 1,000 yards on the season.

The Colts' Edgerrin James does have something he could play for. He leads the AFC with 1,550 yards rushing, six more than Curtis Martin of the New York Jets.

Jake Plummer completed 21-of-26 for 303 yards with two touchdowns and an interception and Reuben Droughns accounted for three scores as the Broncos coasted to a 37-16 victory over Tennessee on Christmas night.

Matchup to watch: Broncos defensive end Reggie Hayward, who had three sacks last week, against left tackle Tarik Glenn.

Series: Denver leads, 10-5.

Next week: Indianapolis will host a divisional playoff game on January 8 or 9.

I hope Edge runs wild! 200+ yards and gets the rushing title. I also hope that Peyton stays in long enough to throw 3 TD's. And passes for more yardage than Culpepper. I think we stand a better chance at seeing Buffalo next week then the Broncos.

The Broncos gained fewer yards than the Colts on their first possession. The D was bringing a lot of pressure.
