Yeah as much as it would be nice to have Jermaine back sooner I wanted Ron back this year. This ruling blows. Maybe Ron is too much of a problem to win a title with but I would like to find out by having him on the court rather than the year ban. This is total bull****.

The thing I dont understand is that Jackson and Ron were the only ones who DID leave the floor, how is it that he even could rule on Jermaine? I think he set himself up to be overturned.

Tell me about it. The Pacers spend years trying to build a championship-calibur team, and every time they're on the verge, something happens.

'98 - Bulls get in the way (last championship).
'99 - The NY fiasco.
'00 - Shaq and Kobe in their prime (1st championship).
'05 - Stern rapes the Pacers.
'06 - Strike - No season.

**** this. Hitler Stern has to go, and I am willing to help do whatever it takes to make sure he does.

Frankly, I hope there isn't a season next year and that it is directly the result of Stern having TOO MUCH Power!!

If there is a season, I hope it is without David Stern.

If there is no season next year, and it is a direct result of this brawl conflict over Stern's power, what if the NBA fails to ever regain popularity again, and becomes like the NHL?

Then we could all sit here in a couple years, talking about how our boy Ronnie singlehandedly destroyed the NBA.

There will be an NBA next season and there won't even be a strike.

The NBA has taken a hit recently.

Both sides are smart enough to know that a strike will further, and probably severely, damage the standing of the league in the eye of the public. The negotiations will be extremely competitive, but I don't think either side will allow a strike.

Sooooo true Shade.

I strongly believe there will be a strike next year considering Sterns
ego-maniacal personality. I am a vote of one and that is all that counts.
The players cannot play under this set-up where Stern can take a players
salary away for a year. I would not put up with that and I know the players
will not. Strike is coming.

Agreed, but .... it is also something the owners will not like.

Think about the value Ron had and has now, see what you think if you own the team, chances of winning it all; at best diminished. Chances the value of the team drops; considerable. For all else we have Stern.

I would not be surprised if, once the JO matter is settled, the Simons ask the BoG to convene, and there it only depends on whether teams want to shaft the Pacers or that he owners consider their sizeable investments in the teams and the results of a suspension like this, what does it bring the teams and the league in the end, nothing.

It only devaluates a lot of things, but then again, I am no owner, I am poor, so I might think different about these things :)
