It's gonna suck for PG when he finds out him and granger won't be a good fit

My guess is that it will suck worse for Danny when he realizes that it isn't his team anymore...

and then he isn't on it...

danny has sat at the bench all year I bet it's hit him already the good thing is these players we have now don't look or act selfish to the point they could care who's team it is, which is a huge change from previous years with Ron and JO fighting over that

I don't really understand all of this talk about Granger and George not being able to fit together. Not only do the guys have a great relationship that goes back to before George became a Pacer, but their style's fit together nicely. In my opinion, Granger will be at his best when he is not the number 1 focus for defenses, and when he can spot up around the 3 point line while letting West, George, and Hill do their thing. I would not be surprised at all to see Danny put up around 15ppg with career best %'s (assuming he comes back full health).

Oh, thats not what the interview was about?

If Granger was on any other team and we got him basically for free at a trade deadline deal people would be calling him the x-factor. Familiarity breeds contempt I guess.

Also Danny has a great first step, so as PG kicks it out to Granger, he is going to get easy drives for mid range jumpers as the defender tries to close out. It has the potential to be a deadly 1-2 punch, 2 players with great size and length, and great jump shooters. I dont' think the league has seen a wing combination like that since Walker and Pierce.

remember when people said LeBron and Wade wouldn't fit together too? There is no reason Danny and Paul can't play together.

Only on Pacers Digest can you find people wishing to have added the likes of Carlos Delfino while trying to push Danny Granger out the door.

Let's not slap two different sentiments into that machine from The Fly here. I welcome Danny's return. I also prefer Delfino to Green.

I'd rather have Green any day. Delfino plays zero defense cause he can't. Delfino has no offense at all except an average jump...err standing shot cause he can't do anything else. At least Green does a lot of things that are average and some things above average. He just needs to improve his jump shot % and he will do fine.

Put it this way, come playoffs when Lebron, Wades minutes go way up and we revert to our bench, would you really want Delfino to be out there trying to stop the likes of Lebron, Wade, Allen?

ilive4sports

What exactly is Green doing that is average? His defense? Nope. His shooting? Nope. Passing? Nope. Dribbling? Nope. Attacking the basket? Nope.

And I really don't want Green guarding LeBron, Wade or Allen. I'd much rather Sam Young do that. Actually in the playoffs, Granger/George need to be playing the same minutes as LeBron and Wade so it doesn't even matter.

edit: also, Paul George is awesome :)

Except his fg% this year, he is average at least in all you mentioned. Delfino has a terrible physic, he does no good for a playoff team. And Sam Young was pulled cause he done nothing to stop Lebron. Danny isn't going to play Lebron minutes and if Paul gets in any foul trouble, he won't either. It is inevitable for someone to defend Lebron and/or Wade coming off our bench for 15 minutes and I'd take Green over Delfino or Young anytime.

Green isn't going to do jack **** against LeBron. He's not a good defender at all. We are talking about the same Gerald Green that lost his bench job to Sam Young right?

No, we're talking about 2 different Gerald Green's that play for the Pacers.

I guess because I have watched him for more the 60 games and I have seen what he is capable of that I am hoping that he will find his place with this team before playoffs. And you are seriously wrong about his defense. Yea, he gets screwed up on rotations some times but he can stay in front of his man and get a contested hand up more times then not, which is more then I can say about Delfino and Young is not very good against high end talent. Young's lateral movement blows pretty bad. But, then again, I guess that's why he gets paid the big bucks and I guess that's why Memphis couldn't afford him cause of the cap hell they was in.

Whoa... I don't take this lightly... As KG is known to be a dick to younger players on other teams...

Which reminds me of something I've never seen discussed on here... Assuming (more like praying) that PG stays with us for the long haul... Have any of you guys considered the possibility that PG may one day lure other superstars to Indy for us to maybe someday have a super team of our own?

My dream... Paul and LeBron become close and LeBron decides he wants to help try to get a small market team with no championships their first dynasty :) And oh lord how those two would dominate the league with their all-around games...

Here's McGrady's prime.

George has long ways to go to develop his offensive game.

McGrady is one of few players to have a season and PER of over 30...

Defensively, hes just as good as McGrady was in Toronto, maybe a bit better.

McGrady when he developed his offense, he pretty much coasted on defense, hopefully George doesnt do that and continues to be a shut down defender for years to come.

Probably PG earned KG's respect because he's an all-star now and probably because PG didn't go to KG's bad side. And well KG just says derogatory stuff against opposing players during games like what he did to Melo and Charlie V. so maybe KG being a freaking jerk is situational.

Well James seems to like him and they have worked together in offseason activities so there's the friendship between them. Hopefully, it's PG convincing him to join the Pacers rather than the other way around.

PG is here for a minimum of 6 more years is the way I look at it. He is going to get a 5 year max after next season. Unless he decides to force his way out, we are in good shape.

Paul and Lebron couldn't be on the same team. Paul is a SF and sliding down to the SG would hamper his development.

This is a theory. Let's see what happens. Very likely Paul will still play key minutes at the 3, potentially in some devastating small ball lineups WITH Danny.

I do worry about Paul chasing people off screens. Then again, it's not like Lance is great at that either.

We've dehabilitated Danny's offense to minor contributions this discussion. We've dehabilitated Danny's defense almost to Troy Murphy proportions. Why not dehabilitate his teamwork to sinuspoutitis while we're at it?
