Grady just said we now know if Danny Granger will play tonight, we will find out after the break. Turn on 1070 if you can.

He's sick and won't play.

Hopefully that's not a cover up to knee trouble. Guess we'll know more next week.

Damn it. Took the wind out of my sails for the day.

Hopefully it really is just an illness and not a coverup on the knee issue. I'll believe that Granger is going to play this season when I actually see him take the court. At this point, I think it's very fair to wonder if he will play at all in the month of February.

Yeah, as of a couple days ago it was stated "Danny would be back either Wednesday for the Bobcats or 2/20 for the Knicks" (Can't find the tweet/article though, dammit.)

I'd feel much better if they said his knee was a bit sore after the practice and they wanted to take advantage of the 7 day break and ensure he's ready to give it 100%. All of the sudden having "flu symptoms" and missing shootaround, and therefore being ruled out? All after his "best practice yet" when he was "doing everything well"?

Indeed.

EDIT: What really bothers me is that him simply having flu symptoms wouldn't typically be cause to rule him out 8 hours before tip. That's why I have to wonder if this is something more.

At this point I just want SOMETHING to happen. I'm over this waiting game of well he may play here, or no he'll play here, etc.

No, damn near half the population has been or will be sick at some point this winter, about a 50/50 chance to get one of several different viruses that's going around.

well they probably knew he was sick, knew we were playing the Bobcats, and knew this was the last game before the break and said, "why do we need to play him?"

All of this! Seriously? No one else thought this? He was perfectly fine yesterday and now all of a sudden this morning he has flu-like symptoms and definitely won't play, yet my buddy who works downtown, and at least 1 other person on twitter saw Granger in Circle Centre Mall at around noon shopping. Now Scott Agness tweets a picture of Granger during shoot around about 20 minutes ago...

I thought about it but I don't want people to jump all over me, I also saw the tweet of the guy saying that he saw Danny at the mall this morning, could it be possible that he was buying flu medicine? :whoknows:

I dunno either. Doesn't make any sense... If he was sick or even if his knee was sore enough to prevent him from playing...why is he out shooting around? Maybe we are just trying to keep the Bobcats on edge or Stern from fining us for sitting out one of our players who is now healthy. I guess we will all hear more once the game starts.

It's okay. Jeff is going to drop 25pts, 10 reb, 5 blks and outscore the Bobkitties by himself in the 4th Quarter. Hopefully Tyler has a huge game as well and they feel the desire to bring him back to Carolina.

Maybe he woke up sick to his stomach and missed the shoot around and after a few healthy number 2's he started feeling better and went on about his business. This has happened to me more then a few times in my life.

Maybe he will end up playing tonight, wouldn't that be a fantastic surprise!

diff stoty here, Tim Donohue just tweeted this

Coach Vogel on Granger not being ready: "It's really just sharpness on the court. He has appropriate soreness in the knee...

(More Coach Vogel) "...not in the injured part, but it's really about feeling good on the court..."

(More Coach) "...having confidence to make all the movements you need to make, and understanding another few days is gonna be good for him."

That's my biggest problem with the whole thing. If he's not feeling up to playing just say that and it would be no big deal. Instead we hear some crap about him having "flu-like symptoms", then the coach says it's not being comfortable on the court. I absolutely hate how the Colts were always notorious for flat out lying about even the smallest injuries, and that's what this feels like.

Im not saying he is or isn't sick, but you guys act like its impossible. How many of you have called in sick 1 hour or less before work. Danny let us know 8 hours in advance. Its the flu people. It doesn't take long to go from feeling fine, to feeling like garbage real quick.

Im not saying its not a "cover up", but would likely assume it's not.

Also, if you aren't in game shape already..and you feel like you have the flu..best not to play.

My problem though, if Danny does have the flu...why is he at the game? Are we going to try and get Paul George sick again?

Maybe the Pacers said he had the flu so David doesnt fine the team for not playing Danny.

Eh they probably just feel like they might as well wait until after the All-Star break at this point, no real use of playing him tonight. I don't think its anything particularly foreboding.

There's absolutely no reason to lie about it.

I find it funny that I am a conspiracy theorist about EVERYTHING except when it comes to my Pacers... Because I'm believing the flu story... It might also have something to do with the fact that I run a pharmacy and I know there are all kinds of bugs going around in Indiana...

I heard MJB comment on Danny shooting in the afternoon while I was on the way to the game and would have posted a retraction of my comment, except I left my phone at home...

I still think that if Danny was feeling punk but still went out there to shoot we should be glad he was dedicated enough to get his daily shots up instead of constantly speculating that we're being lied to. If the problem was his knee, wouldn't he be resting it instead of shooting? If the problem was his belly, wouldn't he perhaps want to get some shots in while feeling like crap so as to make sure later in the season he can get out there and shoot while feeling like crap?

A source told me that Danny Granger's injury wasn't just patellar tendinitis. He also had a small hole in the cartilage in his knee.
