Taking into account that times change and whatnot. Who is the best?

How could you leave off Darnell Hillman? :o :o :o
Of that group I voted for Wilkins but I would have given serious consideration to Hillman or Dawkins

Sorry bout that. I added an Other vote just for that reason now.
Hillman was really before my time but I should've thought of Dawkins.
I guess I was thinking in terms of contest more than anything. Ah well, that'll teach me :)

Definently Wilkins. Everytime him and Jordan clashed, he kicked Jordan's *** (yes even in 88, Dominique was robbed big time), and while Julius was VERY good at dunking, he was just a little too early and was in his older years by the times he was in the dunk contest. If he started 5-10 years later, he would've been the best ever probably.
One of the most underrated dunkers of our time (now) is Rasheed Wallace. The guy can SOAR to the air, and catches the most ridiculous alley-oops around, yes better than K-Mart. One time, a saw a game with Portland in Charlotte, and Stoudamire from about the OPPOSITE free-throw line, fired an alley-oop to Sheed, he catches it ONE HANDED and slams it down. My mouth was like :jawdrop:.

The bar gets raised each and every year.
Looking back at the dunks by MJ and Wilkins that seemed unbelievable 15 years ago, now they don't seem so great.
I think Vince carter is the best.

I would have to say Dominique and David Thompson.

Perhaps tbe most amazing act any human has ever done, but the dunks were not that great.

Spud Webb put on the greatest single dunk contest performance ever, but
Dominique is the best dunker over all, IMO.
I say spud webb..
it has timing and athletic ability ..
and being so small, makes the dunk look so good..

Is this question focused just on the "dunk contest"? Because for in-game dunking (and by that, I mean in traffic but still breathtaking) Dominique and Julius have to be #1 and #1A. Other guys only looked good in dunk contests or on unguarded breakaways, which I don't think is a big deal.
