Eight Points, Nine Seconds Review:

http://i39.tinypic.com/nw1120.png (http://www.eightpointsnineseconds.com/)

Jonathan Auping: Sweatin’ Bullets - The Not-So-Glorious Return

Last season we ran a feature called Sweatin’ Bullets in which I provided observations,
theories, and general points about the latest game. We got a lot of good feedback like,
“You’re not as funny as you think you are” and “What are you, drunk?” So for tonight’s
matchup with the Mavericks, we’re bringing it back. Enjoy.

If side-by-side televisions were in your living room and one of them was
airing this game while the other was airing Danny Granger and Dirk Nowitzki
playing one-on-one, which one do you think you’d stare at more?
Lance Stephenson was just a little 10-year-old when Vince Carter won the
Slam Dunk Contest. Stephenson was probably more of a Gerald Green-era
Dunk Contest type of guy.
There seem to be some big guys in the NBA that are “fake tough” in the
words of Kevin Durant. I wouldn’t include Elton Brand or David West on that
list.
One year of Chris Kaman for $8 million or four years of Roy Hibbert for
$58 million? I’m not commenting either way, I’m just asking. Friday’s stats?
Kaman: 8 points, 10 rebounds. Hibbert: 14 points, 8 rebounds.
I had the pleasure of talking to Dahntay Jones last Wednesday before the
Mavericks played the Washington Wizards. I took the liberty of speaking for
all of you when I told him how much he was loved in Indiana. His response:
”I think they appreciated that I gave my heart and soul and played hard
every night.I tried to do the right thing, on and off the court. The people
were really supportive and we did some special things together.”
If Bernard James keeps playing well as a reserve big man then the
Mavericks might be able to flip him to the Pacers for a starting-caliber
point guard and a defensive specialist in a year or two. He’ll need to start
committing more fouls though...CONTINUE READING AT 8p9s (http://www.eightpointsnineseconds.com/2012/11/sweatin-bullets-the-not-so-glorious-return/)

Ball Don’t Lie:

http://i47.tinypic.com/346awbb.png (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/)

Dan Devine: So, how seriously should we take the New York Knicks’ 5-0 start?

The New York Knicks are 5-0. They are the only team in the NBA that hasn't lost yet.
They are either at or near the top of most observers' early season power rankings,
they've got the league's best defense and second-best offense in terms of points
allowed per 100 possessions, according to NBA.com's stat tool, and they are the first
team in 25 years to open the season with five straight wins by 10 or more points.

And yet, despite the fact that the Knicks' improvement on both offense and defense
tracks with the team's performance in coach Mike Woodson's 24-game stint at the
helm last season, during which New York fielded top-five-caliber units on both ends
of the floor, it all feels like a trick of the light, a soon-to-be-dispelled mirage. Can
the New York Knicks — a team that's led by career losers Carmelo Anthony and J.R.
Smith, that's got four of the five oldest players in the NBA, that's been a laughingstock
for the better part of the last 13 years — be the best team in the NBA? It's a difficult
concept to accept ... especially if you watched them play Tuesday night.

If you just looked at the box score Wednesday morning, you'd think the Knicks' 99-89
road win over the Orlando Magic went down pretty similarly to their first four. New
York shot well, making a touch under 49 percent of their field goals and 38 percent
of their 3-point tries, with Anthony leading the way (25 points on 50 percent shooting
and eight rebounds) and Smith continuing to play like a top Sixth Man candidate (21
points on 9-for-14 shooting, four rebounds, three assists, two steals, just one
turnover). They continued to take care of the ball, turning it over just nine times,
while harassing Orlando into 20 cough-ups that led to 24 Knick points. They scored
like a top-three offense and checked like a top-eight defense, efficiency-wise. A nice
night's work, and on to the next one...CONTINUE READING AT BALL DON'T LIE (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/seriously-york-knicks-5-0-start-205758317--nba.html)

I could honestly see it go either way for Lance either he'll revert back to wanting to be all flash and no substance at home or have an amazing and controlled game.

Glad I randomly decided to stop by PD just to pass some time completely forgot this game was at noon so I will actually be able to watch it :). Go Pacers.

I don't care how good you are on defense, if you are going to shoot 1-6 and turn the ball over 4 times you are a net negative.

Ian let the Knicks get some offensive boards, didn't protect the rim as well and was also 0-5 from the field. I'll take Roy for today.

I hope that Roy and Ian (and the whole team in general) can turn this around.

We need this W.

Sorry I have nothing to add. Everyone has already stated the obvious.
It's pretty much a turnover when we toss it in to Roy. He's going to shoot. He's going to miss. No one is going to crash the boards.

The entire team is comprised of some below ave. shooters.
