You have to love watching the wheels in Magic's head spinning trying to stay on the safe side of the Kobe question on the pre-festivities show.

Who is "Magic"?

:lakers: ;)

Barkley cracking on Salley was pretty funny. That event stank though.

Nice camera angle on that Fisher three though. That looked pretty cool.

How about those Retro Ft. Wayne Piston Jerseys...

Liked the Ft. Wayne jersey.

Where's Payton? Wasn't he gonna do the skills comp?

Liked the Ft. Wayne jersey.

Where's Payton? Wasn't he gonna do the skills comp?

He pulled out at the last second for reasons unknown...

(insert Kobe joke here)

Damn, I was pulling for Boykins.

Natston

Damn, I was pulling for Boykins.

Me too...

Roaming Gnome
02-14-2004, 10:24 PM
Yeah, Boykins was my favorite player to watch in the CBA...I knew that he had game and it was only a matter of time before ppl got over his size. Boyk was scoring 20 pts and 10 ast a game in the CBA!

They need to get the dunk contest underway. I've got places to go and people to see... :unimpressed:

Kyle Korver's stroke is pretty sweet to watch.

Drilling 9 threes in a row!

Korver, wow.

Korver is cold in the 2nd round.

indytoad

That last round of the three-point contest was pretty good.

But I'm just glad I got back from work in time for the dunk contest.

Peja with the last-second miss!

That was amazing though. He had to hit the entire rack, and he missed only the money ball...

Come on Freddie!!!!

Put. On. A. Show.

Dunk your arm off small fella!

MSA2CF

Go Freddy!

Would I sound like a stickler if I mention to everyone that Carmelo has one L and that Freddie is spelled with an -ie?

I wonder why Al Albert's top 5 Freddie Jones dunks didn't include the facial he recently did on Medvedenko from the Lakers.

MSA2CF
02-14-2004, 11:22 PM
Magic just picked Freddie to be the surprise!

indytoad
02-14-2004, 11:22 PM

Well glad Jones got a 50.. but his dunk seemed the least impressive of all of them. Guess being shorter helps him quite a bit.

MSA2CF
02-14-2004, 11:27 PM

Well glad Jones fot a 50.. but his dunk seemed the least impressive of all of them. Guess being shorter helps him quite a bit.

Maybe it was the retro factor. They said it was the one Spud Webb did. Retro seems to be the theme this year.

IndyToad
Although I wouldn't know

MSA2CF
02-14-2004, 11:28 PM
Personally, I hate the ones where they shoot the ball then catch it in the air.

Hicks
02-14-2004, 11:29 PM
I know it didn't look as impressive as Andersons, but considering his height (which despite them saying 6'4" it's actually 6 2 or 6 3), and the fact that from the angle they used to show it live I thought it was way too far for him to catch, that'll get you a 50. Plus, one handed catch and stuff.

Roaming Gnome
02-14-2004, 11:29 PM
Anderson kinda got screwed a bit....Jason Richardsons dunk wasn't that special...

I think Freddie and J Rich are holding off for the next round!

MSA2CF
02-14-2004, 11:30 PM
We can't really complain. I don't think any of us can dunk like these guys. :P

But I'm biased I think.

Huzzah for Freddy making it to the Final Round!

MAN that Richardson dunk was AWESOME though.

If Richardson has better dunks up his sleeve, all he has to do is not miss and it's his.

Here come the finals!

zxc

Pretty sucky way to win. But hey, works for me.

Well, considering J-Rich got like 5 retries, it's only fair he blows it on the miss.

Freddy was more creative anyway.

LONG LIVE INDIANA JONES!

kerosene
02-14-2004, 11:50 PM
That was an anticlimatic ending.
Ah well. JRich had the dunk of the night for sure though.

arkman40
02-14-2004, 11:50 PM
Poetic justice for Richardson to miss after needing so many attempts on his first dunk.

Freddie's 1st in the finals was SICK. Full extension. Wow. Just like I taught him. ;)

kerosene
02-14-2004, 11:52 PM
Yeah, all Richardson had to do was make a dunk with _some_ degree of difficulty. They should've sent it to OT :D

ROCislandWarrior

J Rich is the better dunker, but it is a numbers game....and Fred Won

Now lets hope he plays with confidence the rest of the way out

What I liked about two of Freddie's dunks which seems lost on some of the people online is how he snatched the ball and jammed it with one hand. That's what made his dunks nice.
