Eight Points, Nine Seconds Review:

http://i39.tinypic.com/nw1120.png (http://www.eightpointsnineseconds.com/)

Jeremy Comstock: Pacers Stat of the Week

9

9. This is the number of games in which Gerald Green had played more than 10 minutes
for a team with a winning record before joining the Pacers this season. He had played in
a total of 212 NBA games. All 9 of those games were played for the Dallas Mavericks
during the 2008-09 season Ė a year where he also played a stint in the D-League before
ultimately being cut.

This isnít written to excuse Greenís poor play through the first four games of the season,
only to point out that heís being asked to do something this season that heís never done
before Ė play a meaningful and important role on a good team.

The kindest way to describe Greenís play so far is to say that the juryís still out. Heís
shown flashes of impressive talent, but theyíve been rare and often sandwiched between
stretches of either bone-headed or tentative play. Itís been obvious to all observers that
heís been struggling mentally to cope with his new situation. This has prompted Frank
Vogel to move Green to the bench in favor of Sam Young, hoping a change in role would
benefit both players. In the game against San Antonio, however, the entire team was so
wretchedly awful that no conclusions should be drawn from that game.

Considering todayís news that Granger will be out for 3 months, Greenís importance to
the team is clear...CONTINUE READING AT 8p9s (http://www.eightpointsnineseconds.com/2012/11/pacers-stat-of-the-week/)

Kyle Weidie: Itís Only Three Games, Wizards (Yea, but Check the Stats)

One game has turned to two games has turned to three games, and the Washington
Wizards have lost them all. But you can take the losses, right Wiz fans? Weíre at 266
Lís and counting over the last five-plus seasons, so Iím betting you can.

There are, however, encouraging signs, in pockets. But Iím not here to sell you magic
beans of what such encouragement can sprout, just that they wonít be hot pockets
(Andray Blatche/WizzNutzz reference (https://www.google.com/search?q=andray+blatche+hot+pockets&oq=andray+blatche+hot+pockets)). This Wizards team is devoid of young
knuckleheads, and that is refreshing.

ďWe are very tough to play against,Ē writes Ted Leonsis on his blog (http://www.tedstake.com/2012/11/08/0-and-3/). True. Although,
worth noting that two hard-fought games between Washington and Boston, with Boston
narrowly winning both, is probably more of an indictment of the Celtics than an
endorsement of Wizards promise.

But letís not focus on encouragement and promise. Decent performances from a
couple Wiz Kids need to be built upon before the potential is elevated too much.
Itís nonetheless nice that Kevin Seraphin, Chris Singleton, Jan Vesely, the relatively
young Martell Webster, and Jordan Crawford have displayed some good episodes in
certain instances.

No, letís concentrate on the negative, since the negative is pretty much why the team
is losing games. And the most glaring negatives? Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafor,
obviously. TAI covered these veteran basketball skid-marks (http://www.truthaboutit.net/2012/11/skid-marks-0-2-wizards-need-to-clean-up-their-act.html) prior to Wednesday
nightís Celtics game; now, I suggest you read what Mike Prada wrote about them
today at Bullets Forever (http://www.bulletsforever.com/2012/11/8/3616538/washington-wizards-trevor-ariza-emeka-okafor).

Randy Wittman indicated on Monday...CONTINUE READING AT TRUTH ABOUT IT (http://www.truthaboutit.net/2012/11/its-only-three-games-wizards-yea-but-check-the-stats.html)

Given our performance against the most recent lottery Teams....I am not confident that the 2nd unit of this Team can really step up.

The problem with this Team isn't PG/West/Hill...it's Hibbert and the bottom 5 to 9 Players that will play that I'm concerned about that don't mesh nor stepping up.

That Wizards starting 5 is the worst I can remember seeing in the NBA since the Brawl aftermath. Beal's got a future, but the others are mediocre at best.

So the Pacers will probably win tonight and people will think they've found the magic solution and the sun will start shining.

Um, no thanks.

I still can't believe the Wizards traded Shard's partially guaranteed expiring deal for those 2. It's like they handed a get out of jail free card to New Orleans.

If Gerald Green "literally" jumped out of the gym, that would be a feat never before seen in the human race. He would have to jump and leave the arena before he landed for that term to be used correctly.
