Eight Points, Nine Seconds Review:

http://i39.tinypic.com/nw1120.png (http://www.eightpointsnineseconds.com/)

Jared Wade: Pacers Waste Oxygen, Everybody’s Time in San Antonio

The Pacers probably knew they had to play better than they did in their first three
games to beat the Spurs in San Antonio. That didn’t prevent them from coming out
and playing even worse, however.

The first half was miserable, as nobody could hit a shot. Hard to blame them
though really. Because they were almost all really bad shots. The whole offense
was disjointed and jerky, with guys taking turns trying to make bad isolation plays
more often than being part of a system that worked to get players open in positions
where they could thrive. Here is all you really need to know if you were fortunate
enough to spend your Monday night doing something other than watching this
“game”: Indiana shot 6-for-22 in the first quarter (27.3%) and were barely better
at the half (13-for-43 or 30.2%).

Meanwhile, the Spurs, who had the most effective offense in the NBA last season
and returned all of their principal rotation staples, put on a clinic, whipping the ball
around the half court and never settling for anything but a good look. It certainly
helps that Tony Parker can get into the lane whenever he wants, and he and Tim
Duncan exploited this, often moving the Wake Forest legend out to the top of the
key to make room for Parker to either attack the lane or get the ball to Duncan in
space, where he was free to swing the ball and force the defense to react or take
it inside himself. Later, Manu got in on the action, blowing by a defender here,
carving up the defense in a two-man game there, and shot-faking Pacers out of
their socks everywhere. Then there were the supporting shooters. Always, in San
Antonio, are the supporting shooters. They shared the load of knocking down 8-of
-18 three-point attempts, with Danny Green, Indy’s ol’ friend Stephen Jackson and
Matt Bonner each sticking two a piece.

This was basically a tiger playing with its food...CONTINUE READING AT 8p9s (http://www.eightpointsnineseconds.com/2012/11/post-game-grades-pacers-waste-oxygen-everybodys-time-in-san-antonio/)

Well-Meaning Friends Once Again Try To Set Up Cheryl Miller With Reggie Miller

RIVERSIDE, CA—According to sources close to the former college basketball star,
friends of Cheryl Miller once again attempted to set her up on a date with retired
Indiana Pacer Reggie Miller on Saturday, apparently still unaware that the two are
siblings. “Seriously, you guys have so much in common,” said Miller’s close friend
Danielle Kaelin, stressing that the couple would “really hit it off if [Miller] would
just give him a chance.” “Reggie loves basketball as much as you do. He played
in college and even a few years in the NBA. I won’t lie to you Cheryl—he’s not the
best looking guy out there. But he’s still in really great shape for his age, and he’s
really rich, too.” At press time, a resigned Miller begrudgingly agreed to go out on
a dinner date next week with her younger brother.

Olzendam just threw out the modifier approximately in front of 3 months when talking about Danny's injury. I dunno guys...I think Pacers already know it may be worse than even what they are saying right now.

If you look up the illness Granger has he could be done. A lot of people who have Tendinosis can barley get around and it seems like it's chronic illness from just reading up on it.

Lucky for Granger it is just an injury, and not an illness. :P

Ok on a more serious note, I don't remember if it was McFarland or Simon, but whoever it was this is the same injury that ended their career, so it isn't unprecedented. Although both of those guys were huge linemen carry much more weight than Granger which probably made it worse.

Here is all we should make Gerald Green think about...do I have the ball? If yes, then shoot. If no, then just keep running around. If I have the ball should I ever do anything but shoot like dribble or pass? Only if you are dribbling straight to the hoop for an open dunk, otherwise no, just shoot.

Our off season trades are not paying off. Collison did an adequate job of running the offense and Jones was a lockdown defensive player. So far this season we got the short end of the stick when it comes to trades...

Not a problem good sir.

vnzla is right as well--I also defended Dunleavy quite a bit. It wasn't necessarily that I liked him that much, it was more of a need to balance out the massive amounts of vitriol the rest of the board gave him. Put it this way--if we traded Green for Dunleavy straight up, right now, I would consider that a clear upgrade.

Green excels as a spot up shooter, guy who moves off the ball, and in the post. Last year 13% of his plays were post ups, and he ranked 16th in the entire NBA in efficiency in this situations. This year he's posted up once.

It seems that his job here is to handle the ball far more than he ever should (why he's inbounding the ball is really beyond me), and that's a problem. His jumper is also off right now, and that's making things look even worse.

In all seriousness, Lance needs to start at the 2 and George needs to move to the 3. Sam Young needs to be moved to below Ben Hansbrough on the depth chart. Or get traded to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants for JaJuan Johnson and three ribbed condoms.

Is it just me or does Lance move noticeably faster and smoother with the ball in his hands than without it. It's almost as if he was 'born ready' or something...

Look at the plus minus of our starters including Lance instead of Young. Yeesh.

Meanwhile, the Pacers go on an 18-0 run...

Besides West, Lance is probably our most confident player (not including DG). I love his attitude like no one will stop him

Sam Young can do spot minutes playing a little defense. He just has no business starting.

Look what aggressive/attacking gets you!
Exactly I'm practically pulling my hair out over here. Be aggressive.

OK, I'm sold - Lance has more chemistry with the starters than Green (and way, way more than Young). I'm down with Lance in the starting lineup with Green being the first wing off the bench. Young can wave two towels.

The starters have played this whole quarter... you can't play them the whole game... at some point we will be relegated to Green and Augustine.

Atlanta has stolen all of our thunder with the idiotic turnovers.
