Seriously. Lets get this done. Roy, Paul, Danny, pretty much everyone we can vote for. What are some ways for one person to vote multiple times? Different IP's maybe? Different log ins? Lets quarterback this thing out. We need some serious efforting out of the fans to get these guys in the starting lineup. At the very least, to get Roy in. There should be no reason we cant get Roy in the All Star game this year as a starter. Step up your game Indy.

Post some thoughts on how to ratchet up the voting numbers for Roy. Remember, its not cheating, it's savvvvvvvvvvy.

agreed. i think roy being a starter is a long shot though if byum stays healthy.

previous years you could vote once everyday. don't think it will change this year. no need to change ip or do something else unless you want to vote multiple times in one day.

Couldn't care less about All Star votes, would prefer a team as dependent on chemistry as ours get their rest when they can get it. Much prefer people buy a ticket or two than fill in an online form.

I wish the Pacers well on their all star endevors, but I won't waste one second of my time with voting. Anyway, I personally think it is more of an honor to be chosen by the coaches, but

..."it's the fans game" :sigh:

Come on, now. The only way to get any of our guys in as starters would be to get voters who are fans of other teams to vote for one of them. There just aren't enough Pacer fans to vote daily and overcome the bandwagon effect of Knicks, Heat, and Bulls fans.

I fully expect Derrick Rose to be an All-Star starter without setting foot on the court before the voting ends That says something about how worthwhile the fan voting is

No wonder no one wants to play in Indy. What a set of kill joys, most of you guys on here act like you have a butt blug stuck up ur arse.

Anyway I do think we need to do better, I vote daily and i will continue to do so, I just wish we had more support. Its the least we can do for their hard work

I never vote, but if I did I would vote for the players who deserve to start, no matter what team they play for.

And I'll be even less shocked when Lin gets a starter nod because of the Chinese vote.:bs:

Do you seriously believe that some Indy fans not voting is the reason the Pacers don't have a starter and the reason no one wants to play in Indy?

I remember a few years ago my wife and I did the 50-vote packs every single game during the voting season. They were handing them out to people as they walked in the door. Now, even if only one percent of poor attendance people went through those that was 5000 votes a game. No starters that year.

Having an all star or few all stars can help for people to buy one ticket or two :twocents:

Oddly enought I agree with both Heisenberg & you on this.

I don't disagree, but we aren't going to get one by voting for one. Let's worry about players good enough to be coach selected and let the fan vote take care of itself. Of course, anyone on the Pacers who gets selected for the All-Star game by the coaches is a fluke anyway according to some, so even that isn't necessarily going to work.

I agree that nobody from the Pacers is going to get enough votes to be an starter, I guess my point is that I see a lot of people here in PD always downplaying the All Star game and saying things like they don't care or whatever while wanting people to show up to games.

The NBA is all about the stars and we like it or not having at least one all star could help the Pacers sell tickets easier than telling the fans how much "team ball" or "smashmouth" game they have, so yeah it's important to have an all star player on your team.

Some of you are seriously some babies. Look, if you dont want to vote, fine, but dont act like it doesnt matter. It does. I would love to see Roy Hibbert get a starting All-Star nod. I would be very proud. If you dont have time to click a button or make a dot on a piece of paper, than how do you have time to post here? I dont get it. There is really no excuse. If you're a fan, you should care about these things. But if you want to come here and post like you're too cool for school, then be my guest. It's embarrassing, but go ahead.

I'm not trying to whiz on anyone's parade who wants to participate in it. What I'm trying to do is calm down people who think that if Roy or some other Pacer doesn't get a starting All-Star slot it is somehow the fault of a fan base that just doesn't care enough. Believe me, I spent huge amounts of time at games I paid for not watching them so I could fill out ballots all first half, surrounded by people doing the same, and nothing came of it. I'm not going to point fingers at folks and say "well, if you'd just not watched any games at all and spent time voting we could have gotten an All-Star starter".

I firmly believe the fan vote portion of the All-Star game is purely a popularity contest to be shared among the players in big markets and/or the ones the media chooses to spend their time hyping. Otherwise, injured players who haven't dressed a huge chunk of the season wouldn't get slots, which happens nearly every year. I think the coaches' picks, on the other hand, are a true honor and am perfectly satisfied to have players who get to the game that way. Which, by the way, we have had recently.

Eventually China will force the NBA to change their policy. It may happen this year if a 10PPG and 5APG Jeremy Lin is voted in over Chris Paul.

May? Lin could be hurt half the year and he's STILL going to get a starting nod. I'll be more shocked if he DOESN'T get voted in.

If every person who has seen this thread voted for the Pacer starting 5 the absolute maximum number of times possible, still no Pacer would get a starting slot.

Why? None of these players deserve to start in the All Star game. Hibbert will probably be added by the coaches and players and he should be our only All Star.... ...

It's a good thing Yi wasn't good enough to make it to an all-star ballot. He would have been voted in as a starter, and that would have been really embarrassing.

I think that the vote should be 50% fans, 50% players for starters. Sometime in the middle of January, give players ballots and have them vote for starters once, with the caveat you can't vote for anyone on your own team. Let that count for half the ballot.

And while I'm changing the all-star game, I'd have 10 PGs, 20 wings, and 20 bigs on the all star ballot for each conference, while lowering the maximum per team to 2 (from 3). You vote for one PG, 2 wings, and 2 bigs as starters, and just sort out guard, forward, and center from there.

I never said it was the fans fault. I'm trying to rally everyone. And Oldblu, who says Roy wont have a starting All star caliber season? If we wait to find out, it will be too late. So start voting now.
