Just curious what others think. I really like Sundiata Gaines, and Sam Young. I have a feeling though Blake Ahearn makes it over Gaines.

Ben Hansbrough.

Ben Hansbrough.

I guess I assumed Luke Nevill and Ben Hansbrough were a given.

This poll needs the ability to choose multiple options.

I think both Ahearn and Gaines get cut.

I think out of the guys who are not guaranteed, Sam Young is basically a shoe-in. I have a feeling Ahearn and Gaines both don't make it. I wouldn't be mad to see either one make it though, both had decent interviews and would be nice 3rd string point guards.

Ben, Blake, and Nevill

I made the poll assuming we would keep a full roster. Thats why I didnt offer multiple options.

Im really surprised most people think Ahearn will be cut. I mean that's who I hope gets cut of the 3, but never thought he would be.

This poll would be better if it were later and provided the time to actually see them in a preseason game or two. It's not just a question of their skill levels, but more importantly how they fit.

Whoever the best PG is. I really prefer Sam Young....but honestly....I can see the Coaching Staff look at our needs and see that we need another PG....not the Best Player available to keep. Sorry, but I just don't think that Lance can properly run the point.

Young has the only real shot at making the team.

Ahearn will be cut

Gaines and Young will both make the team.

Ahearn.

Possibly Gaines as well if we want to keep an open spot.

Young will make the team.

Young stays.

One PG stays. Whichever one impresses the coaching staff.

And it matters little. They will see scant PT, more than Lance or Jeff will see, but still scant.

How many roster spots do we have left to fill?

Are we able to keep 2 of the 3?

Yes one person must be cut.

I havent been following much of anything this offseason, but i'm starting to come around. Is Sam Young the kid who played for Pitt in college? He was a heck of an athlete if so.

The Pacers like to keep one roster spot open. Frank even mentioned that today.

We have 18 Players in camp, thus at least 3 will be cut, probably 4.

Sure Things;

Starters
Granger
West
Hibbert
George
Hill

Bench
Green
Mahinmi
Augustine
T.Hansbrough
Pendergraph
Stephenson
Plumlee
Johnson

In my view that leaves these 5 players vieing for one spot.

Ahearn
Gaines
Young
Nevill
B. Hansbrough

Who gets cut and who stays depends on how things go in camp. If there are no injuries, we will probably keep a 1 or 3. Right now I would say we keep Young.

Yep, I agree. If anything, Lance can be the 3rd point. I do hope he plays some point. I want the Pacers to take advantage of their size and go with a big lineup sometimes.

my translation of this: Young will be on the roster if he's needed to play. If Lance plays well enough to count on, then Young hits the bricks.

Tough choice between a third PG and Young.

Can we count on Lance to run the point when one of our PGs is out? When Granger had to stop practice, we saw how useful Young already was.

I want to see them practice before I vote :D

I don't know why, but I think Blake Ahearn has a chance. Maybe it's because everyone keeps saying that he doesn't miss shots.

Cut everybody but Young. If we need a 3rd PG, give Lance those minutes.

Cut everybody but Young. If we need a 3rd PG, give Lance those minutes.This. For one Blake Ahearn is like 6', the dude's not Steve Novak and we ain't the Knicks. We don't have two iso superstars that bring an automatic double.

Cut em all but Young and keep the spots open. Or sign me up. I drain wide open 3s all day at the rec. I'd do a blog and everything.
