View Full Version : Thoughts on the draft

Sometime very late Friday night or very early Saturday I will start the draft.

We will not be using a draft clock so "technically" you will have as long as you need to make your selection.

However..... other than an unforseen emergency I see no reason anyone should take longer than 12 hours to make a pick. The draft is starting early and might last as long as 12 to 14 days. There's no rush to complete it, we have about 30 days before the season tips off, so we'll have more than enough time.

I ask everyone to be considerate of their fellow owners and make every effort to draft on a timely basis.

Please be aware that there will be delays!

No matter how prepared we are, there are always owners that slow the draft down. These delays are frustrating, complaining only adds to the problem.

Please remember that I'm taking steps to address any slow downs

Do not switch to AUTO PICK

There is a feature labled TURN ON AUTO PICK, on the draft page just below the SAVE CONTINGENCIES and DROP CONTINGENCIES features. Do not use this option! The computer will select players at random and not in a good way either.

Since everyone will be on the site over the next couple of weeks it might be a good opportunity to put your drafted players up for a multi-positional vote. There are some forwards that should be listed as center-forwards or guard-forwards.

I forget, but since I have a list going already, and LeBron James is at the top, does that mean he'll automatically get drafted as soon as you start the draft, or do I need to be there?

James is yours the instant I start the draft

Thank you for the update, I will keep checking my contingency list once the draft starts, and try to keep it full.

I'm going to be super-busy this Saturday, but will try to have my contingency list long enough to fill at least my first couple of picks.

My wife is 39 weeks pregnant. I appreciate understanding if I hold up the process in event of having to rush to the hospital :)

Heading out of town in an hour, with limited internet, and I'll be back Monday.

My list is full with 20 guys and I pick #19 & #22, so I should be good.
