He's on the "practice squad" of sorts. They practice against the national team and it is a breeding ground for potential future national team players.

Paul George on the practice squad is great for USA basketball. They won't face a better wing defender in competition.

Heard Chris Bosh and DWade falling out due to nursing injuries, and thought that would leave a place somewhere for Paul to slip in and play for the USA Team, but it seems as though there were other viable players who can step into Wade's shoes. I think it would be great for Paul to play for the USA, that has a tendency to bring out the best in wannabe-aggressive players such as himself. Maybe he'll dunk and jump over a 7-foot French guy!

I still think that is my favorite all time play. ANY sport. Paul can do it, he just has to want to be aggressive. And yes, Wade and Bosh out are nothing. They still have EJ, Kobe (who would have started) and the points who can shoot (Westbrook, Williams) if need be. Lebron can also slide over to the 2 letting Carmelo start at 3. Honestly I think it will be:

Paul/Williams
Kobe/Westbrook
Durant/Carmelo
Lebron/Griffin
Chandler/Love

holy hell, even without Wade, Bosh and Howard, Team USA is still so stacked haha.

Nobody, absolutely nobody will dunk on a 7-foot French player in this summer's Olympics!

(Granted, that's just because no player on the French team is that tall)

(Also, the player Carter dunked on is Frederic Weis, a guy who was drafted - 10th I think - by the Knicks but never played in the NBA)

Well his time there so far he's getting to know the atmosphere there.

Paul George @King24George - "This USA ball is SERIOUS!"

I really hope in two years he's on the USA squad for the 2014 FIBA world championships. It really helped elevate a lot of players to the next level in 2010 (Gordon, Westbrook) and I'd love to see what it could do for PG.

hell seeing what this will do for him should be quite good. Guy gets to practice against the BEST players in the world for a few weeks. We all know he loves Kobe and now he is gonna be matched up against him each day. PG is going to learn a lot this summer.

It will do wonders for his defending thats for sure. Maybe he'll force Kobe to learn to pass.

I hope he's picking Kobe's brain at every opportunity.

Hopefully this is a stepping stone in his third year jump in progression... I can see it. Just be a little more aggressive, and have a few go to moves and he'll go from 12 points per game to 16-19 points per game.

This is great for Paul's development. Paul really does need to emulate Kobe as much as possible.

Looks like he could be #23, but the shoes, socks, and skin tone don't quite match up, unless it's in a different gym at a different time, which by the mid court logo and lack of looks to be the case.

I think that is a pic from the USA U18 team, which is high school players (i think)

while i understand this experience in the offseason against such great players can help him ( and i realize several won't ever agree with me on this) i hope neither he nor any future pacers play in these offseason tournaments. i still remember very well what happened to both reggie and j.o. and for that reason alone- i have no interest in risking our best players.
miami's and other team's ? sure- but not ours.
i don't even like them in the all-star game anymore.

Could be I guess. I thought he looked to have a similar build to PG, but I didn't recognize anyone.
