At the All Star break the Pacers are 39 and 14, that's a .736 winning percentage. A .731 winning percentage will net them 60 wins for the year.

Looking at the remaining schedule I think 60 wins is probable. They won't win all the games they should and they won't lose all the games I have as possible loss games. I look for 60 to 62 wins.

I really don't see how the Nets or Pistons can catch the Pacers.

If the Paers go just 18-10 which I think is about as bad as they will do, unless major injuries occur. The Nets could only lose 4 games the rest of the way and they would have to beat the Pacers at Conseco. Nets are not going to go 26-4, after they just won 10 straight. That would be a 36-4 record to end the season, NO way.

Pistons would have to go 26-2 to beat the Pacers, because they have already lost the season series.

So we look out west. Kings have proven themselves on the road now.
I think 60 wins is what it will take to get homecourt throughout

Yep. We've done well enough now that it's time to worry about the Kings' and T-Wolves' records more than the East teams now.

60 wins is the minimum for guarunteeing home court. I'd like to snag 1 or 2 more wins than that if at all possible, but it's asking a lot to go 23-6, so I don't expect that. Hell, I still think our wins will be between 58-60, rather than 60-62.

But then, this team has proven to be pretty damned good, so who knows?

Anyway, the key thing is we have to go 2-1 over every 3 games to reach 58 wins. That's kinda why I think we'll win about 60.

I'll go ahead and take a swing at the rest of the schdule (predictions):

73 Sun. Mar. 28 5:00 p.m. ET Heat ------------- Win
74 Tue. Mar. 30 8:00 p.m. ET at Bucks --------- Win
75 Wed. Mar. 31 7:00 p.m. ET Bucks ----------- Win
76 Fri. Apr. 2 7:30 p.m. ET Raptors ------------- Win
77 Sun. Apr. 4 6:00 p.m. ET at Pistons --------- Loss
78 Tue. Apr. 6 8:00 p.m. ET Knicks ------------- Win
79 Wed. Apr. 7 7:30 p.m. ET at Raptors -------- Loss
80 Fri. Apr. 9 8:30 p.m. ET Nets ----------------- Win
81 Mon. Apr. 12 7:30 p.m. ET at 76ers --------- Win
82 Wed. Apr. 14 8:00 p.m. ET Bulls ------------- Win

If they do that, they'll go 20-9 to finish with a 59-23 record. Not too shabby at all. I'd say that a handful or so of my guesses could go either way. I could see anywhere from 56 to 62 wins.

There is NO WAY an NBA team will go 36-4 to end a season. That would be like an NFL team going 16-0 to end a season - it ain't happenin. Oh wait a minute the Patriots went 16-0 didn't they.

Oh nevermind.

I guess that means I'm predicting:

1) 20-9 Post all-star break record; 59-23 overall

2) 12-3 Home record; 8-6 Road Record the rest of the way - seems about right.

3) 2-2 Record on the West Coast road trip, which is probably our most difficult stretch of games left.

Don't think that'll be enough to get home court throughout the playoffs, but should easily be enough for the East #1.

I am not predicting ANY games...last time I did that we went into a mini-slump

Instead I will make a bold prediction.. The Pacers finish with 61 wins and gain homecourt throught the playoffs only to get ousted in the first round :D

I too didn't want to go thru & pick out the W's & L's but I did want to add a little something to the thread.

I went thru & added an X to represent the off days.

The Pacers have 5 sets of back to back games but over all I think the schedule is favorable for us.

I'll use the west coast trip as an example. We have a 2 day rest before playing the Warriors & Clippers on consecutive nights. Both games could be wins. One day off & we play at Utah, another off day & we play at Denver.

The Jazz & Nuggets can be tough at home but we have off days before each game & the travel from Utah to Denver shouldn't take that much out of us.

It also helps that we have the Raptors as our first game back.
