The interview provides interesting insight. I am especially intrigued that Larry Bird is fulfilling his role through summer league. This tells me two things:

1. Larry Bird is a man of his word.
2. His decision was not easy and he is obviously endeared to this team; wanting the best for the Pacers.

I believe this also indicates Herb Simon's willingness to spend money. Clearly, the reason is medical and not financial.

Between the Paul and Larry issues, I am not impressed the interviewer.

Same thing I thought when Vogel mentioned him. Seemed to imply we really came together in part because of his addition. Don't know if that is what he meant though. I was under the assumption he was already gone basically.
