The Indiana Pacers are currently percentage points ahead of the Sixers
in the standings. That margin means everything once the playoffs start.
Even if the Sixers win the Atlantic and are guaranteed no worse than
the #4 seed, they could still be a road team in the first round of the
playoffs if the #5 seed has a better record. A win tonight would give
the Sixers a one-game lead on Indy and a 2-0 advantage in their head
-to-head games (with 2 left to play at the end of the season). Must win.

The Pacers started the season hot, but have come back down to Earth
recently. Their record has been kept afloat by feasting on the weak
teams, but they've lost 9 straight games to teams with winning records.
Sounds a bit familiar, unfortunately. Tonight, the Sixers have a chance
to put another notch on their wins vs. winning teams belt. They have a
chance to send a message to a team they might face in the first round
of the playoffs, and perhaps most importantly, they have the chance
to test out their shiny new starting lineup against one of the better
defensive teams in the league.

The perimeter matchups should be great in this one. Jrue goes head
-to-head with the guy who pushed him off the ball in his only season
at UCLA, Darren Collison. Evan Turner faces a rangy, long defensive
wing in Paul George, and a guy who he's going to have to stick to like
glue on the perimeter on the defensive end. And Andre Iguodala gets
to lock down the guy who carried his bags for Team USA two summers
ago, Danny Granger. Those matchups, alone, are worth the price of
admission.

The interesting matchups don't stop on the perimeter, though. Elton
Brand vs. David West is a much closer contest (http://bkref.com/tiny/Tb0sZ) than you might think.
In fact, the edge probably goes to Brand, who can actually spell
defense. Neither guy has been an efficient scorer. At the five, though,
Roy Hibbert has a clear advantage. Thankfully, he's grossly underused
by the Pacers...CONTINUE READING DEPRESSED FAN (http://www.depressedfan.com/basketball/sixers/time-to-expose-the-pacers.php)

It has been a while since the Pacers played on national TV. I can't remember, are we going to get the national telecast or will be a blackout?

Also, DC's best moment of last year in that recap.

If you watch the show in reverse, it's about some young adults slowly getting their lives together and deciding that opening up a bar isn't right for them. Also Dennis resolves his issues with psychopathy.

I like what I'm seeing today. The Pacers go after loose balls and battle on the glass. We pound it inside and we play our game. We may have figured out our identity.

I love it as a Pacer fan.

If I was a neutral fan I'd see a hard fought battle between two good Eastern teams which are on a similar level. The first team has a better mid range game, the second team prefers to pound it inside. I'd love it as well :D

Either that or GH gets more time at point guard. I wouldn't mind either. Some of DJ's minutes come from PG getting in foul trouble as it is.

He's not a point guard. He's best at scoring and defending. (He's even said his preference is to play shooting guard..)

He plays, considerably better next to AJ. (other than the first two games back, he's pretty much consistently around 13 points when next to Price.)

He's not a point guard. He's best at scoring and defending. (He's even said his preference is to play shooting guard..)

He plays, considerably better next to AJ. (other than the first two games back, he's pretty much consistently around 13 points when next to Price.)

We haven't really seen the George's play together much yet. At least not enough to have a useful comparison.

Vucevic is a skilled player and he'll be a good player in the league but he's not on Pekovic's level. Vucevic is a good b/u 5. He could be a solid 6th man in the future. Pekovic, on the other hand, is already a solid 6th man that can easily be a very solid starter.

Am I the only one not seeing how Hill has been better in running our offense than DC? The knock on DC for this game is that he is not hitting his shots and that he has made more turnovers than he usually does.

Hill is without a doubt outplaying him right now and is an upgrade defensively but I fail to see how he is more of a point than DC.

So you are saying you have never wanted to trade DC, dislike DC, and wanted to move him for anything that is not a DC? :bs:

Find me a post were I'm saying that I dislike DC, just because I don't think the guy is an starter doesn't mean that I think he sucks, damn you guys are really sensitive around here.

By the way there is a reason why Vogel has not put DC back in the game and is not because he hates him.

best record in 8 years! Way to go Larry, Morway, Frank, and the roster. Good to have Pacers basketball back

Hill just makes a massive differnce for this team. I don't care who starts between him and DC or whatever, but Hill needs to stay healthy.

Man I wish Jeff Van Gundy could have been a commentator. Doris Burke is okay, but she doesn't speak that often about the game.

Wow ESPN wow. I shouldn't expect less. Instead of talking about the game and what it could mean for the Pacers, Sixers, and playoffs they talk about the Knicks and Orlando and blah blah blah, nothing about the game that just happened.

I'd rather they didn't.

The more games go on ESPN, the less my investment in League Pass Broadband makes sense.

Sure there is. Hill has been hot offensively and is a better defender anyways. It would make no sense to put DC back in.

That's not to say that we should change Hill's role.

Hill was in the game for George.

AJ stayed the game for DC.

Vogel should go with who is playing well. But some games, that will be PG and DC over AJ and Hill.

I don't think many question who's the better player between Hill and DC, but the question is if Hill is better AT POINT GAURD

Has anyone commented on Roy's defense tonight? Just spectacular, he played with a chip on his shoulder as well as most of the team. Great win.

On an irrelevant note:

Turner was amazing today.

21 points (on 9/11 shooting), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Not a single turnover or a blocked shot against. The only blame I can find is that he went 2/4 from the FT line. The kid was great.

All the team showed intensity. Even DC who played subpar was intense.

This was a statement game and their statement was exactly what we wanted to listen :D

Hey gang, I got home and opened up League Pass Broadband, ready to watch tonight's game. Lo and behold, the game is blacked out because it's on ESPN. I don't have ESPN, or even cable service.

Are there any (legal) ways for me to watch tonight's game?

I may have missed it, but I didn't see anyone respond to this. For future reference, you can watch on ESPN's streaming site - espn3.com

No archives, gotta catch it live.

espn streams their telecasted games, so next time you can just watch it at the link gummy posted. of course, this service is not available for anyone outside of the US, so we internationals just get the game on league pass broadband :)

I'm not eligible since I don't have cable. Net only... thus the entire point of League Pass Broadband.

I don't have cable either and it worked for me tonight. I have no idea why. I just got a new modem from comcast, so maybe that has something to do with it?

You only have to have the Comcast Internet subscription to have ESPN3 access.

easy to look good when you don't miss.

he looked bigger somehow. might be doug collins offense, too. PHI did get of lot of 15 ft jump shots all night long.
