Two cares were in an accident. One a 2011 Bentley luxury convertible. The other a 2002 Saturn. Guess which one Derrick Rose was driving?
According to NBC:

Rose was in his 2011 Bentley going southbound on Interstate 90 at Ogden Avenue when he was struck by a Saturn, driven by Charles Tratwein of Dundalk, Md., state police said. Tratwein was not injured and Rose, who missed a few games last month because of back spasms, refused treatment at the scene. Rose told first responders that he would be checked by his own doctor at a later time.

I'm glad it appears that everyone is okay.

Good thing he wasn't hurt. Never would I want to wish someone getting injured. It brings bad karma and it tends to bite you square in the arse.

On the interstate? Very surprising there were no injuries..

Its worded as if it wasn't his fault... I bet it was a charge, stupid superstar favoritism. ;)

I posted this cause of his earlier season back problems. Wondering if they will flare up again because of this? Something to keep an eye on.

And he still didn't get the call from the refs!

But seriously it's good that everyone is ok.

How would you like to be the guy that wrecks your Saturn into Derrick Rose's Bentely? Would suck to be that guys fault. Wonder if Rose would make him fit the bill....

That's what your auto insurance is for.

There is a threshold on your policy though. And if you are underinsured you are in trouble. If he misses games, could the insurance company have to pay his missed salary to the team?

I work personal auto insurance for a major US company. Missed work would be covered, but I seriously doubt that their liability limits would cover that big of a paycheck.

Each state is different, but most of them follow the same/similiar regulations. In order to NOT have uninsured or underinsured coverages, you have sign a waiver. I doubt Rose would sign one, with that expensive of a vehicle, because state minimum coverage probably wouldn't cover the cost of a new bumper for a Bentley. In Indiana the minimum coverage is 25,000/50,000/25,000. But obviously DRose isn't going to have skimpy coverage, and whatever wouldn't be covered by the other party's insurance would be covered under his underinsured, or if the guy didn't have any it would be covered under his uninsured.

Rose continues to drive with reckless abandon, creating the contact himself, and expecting the call. ;)

Rose claims "superstar" car always has the right of way regardless of traffic signs and "rules".

And that's what happens when you have somebody else taking the driving test for you.
