At 23-16 the Indiana Pacers are having a fine season.<br>They're overshadowed in their division by the Bulls<br>and in the East by great teams like Miami and flashy<br>teams like New York. But they're in a tight group with<br>Philadelphia and Atlanta, competing to see who will be<br>the best Eastern Conference team not named Chicago,<br>Miami, or Orlando.

This feat is made more remarkable by the fact that<br>their best player and leading scorer, Danny Granger,<br>has seldom been spoken of this year without "What<br>the heck...CONTINUE READING AT BLAZERSEDGE (http://www.blazersedge.com/2012/3/12/2866877/portland-trail-blazers-vs-indiana-pacers-preview)</TD></TR></TABLE>

The Worst Shot In the NBA:</TH></TR><TR><TH bgColor="white">http://i42.tinypic.com/2ahv7z4.png (http://www.kirkgoldsberry.com/courtvision.htm)</TH></TR><TR><TD>
One of the things I think about a lot is where are worst shots in the league;<br>in other words from a league-wide perspective, which spots are the least<br>efficient shot locations. Obviously, the half-court heaves at the end of<br>quarters are very low percentage shots, but what about “the normal areas”<br>within the scoring zone? You might think that the so-called “long 2” is the<br>easy answer, however one of the most striking things about my “all shots<br>over 5 years chart” is that the bluest hues are in fact mid-range areas that<br>aren’t that far from the hoop; in other words there are two court locations<br>– symmetrically arranged – where NBA players as a whole are surprisingly<br>inefficient.

I thought it would be interesting to look at one of these spots in depth, and<br>evaluate shot performance there. Perhaps the most inefficient shot league<br>wide is located on the left side of the court about 13 feet from the basket<br>at an angle of about 45 degrees.

http://i40.tinypic.com/246to1x.jpg

Collectively, the NBA shoots 36% from this spot, which is much lower than<br>other places much further away from the basket. Why is this? I think two<br>things are happening: 1) this is not a terribly easy shot to make, but perhaps<br>more importantly...CONTINUE READING KIRK GOLDSBERRY'S COURT MAPPING (http://www.kirkgoldsberry.com/courtvision.htm)</TD></TR></TABLE>

I can't possibly predict whether or not you will like the ending; it's a personal response, and it's not as if there's a consensus on it anyway.

Even if you hate the ending, you'll probably have enough enjoyment along the way to still feel as though it was worth the trip, though.

This is all assuming you like SciFi.

Personally, I was fine with the ending.

Lou is having a good game right now...but dang. He has proven to be so much more valuable than mcbob ever since that horrible start to the season. And i liked mcbob too.

Fyi i am just comparing the two since it seems the most obvious guy to compare to in the rotation from last year to this one. Nothing against mcbob.

pacergod2
03-13-2012, 07:03 PM
I have said since we got Collison that he would be the best backup PG in the league. I like Collison, but he is not a starting PG in this league, but he is WAY to talented to not have an integral part of a team's rotation. Change of pace player who plays at one pace, fast. He is a smart player. He is a hustle guy who would dominate backups instead of getting dominated by starters.

It's starting to make more sense why AJ and Lance continuously pass to him. He probably makes shots in practice. Nice to see him making them now. (Plus the defense, energy, and rebounding)

Is Frank tinkering with the lineup experimenting or something?

After the 1st , Hill started playing real well, makes sense just to let PG sit and get rest since it was working, no reason to risk him getting his third foul, when they were handily out playing Portland anyways. I'm guessing.

Paul makes some good passes but I think he needs to put more touch on them. They are always bullets.

I can't wait until PG gets the "defensive stopper" calls. It'll be almost impossible to score on him..

Biggest difference between Paul and Danny is that when Paul drives and doesn't have the shot, he looks to pass.

I would say in Danny's defense, though, that he does look to get to the line, something that he and this team desparately needs considering how difficult offense comes to us at times. PG needs to get better at drawing the fouls, as they are both strong FT shooters.

Paul does need to attack the rim and finish a little stronger. But nobody can deny his vision and willingness.

It's really better that he doesn't pass on the break.

I think is problem is he's going to fast with the ball to make a decision and execute it before it's too late.

That said, I don't really care, because DC going on the break by himself is usually the only way the first unit can score on a fast break. (Granger is terrible for instance..and PG can be great and can easily lose the ball..and when DC tries to pass..)

I have a feeling Shaw has really helped with the Jimmy de-programming.

Only concern is he looked a little scared to shoot. But, that was Uconn AJ. (AKA, "I'm not shooting well, so my shot's a bad shot") It's not an issue, when he's on the floor with scorers. But I'd like him to feel comfortable taking open shots.

MVP (just in time for him to brick the FT:laugh:)
