Eight Points, Nine Seconds <S>Preview</S> Review:</TH></TR><TR><TD>
Jared Wade: Bulls Give Pacers the Bizness<br><br>Miserable. Derrick Rose warned the Pacers that this would happen<br>and, after shooting a woeful 1-for-9 in the first half, he delivered on<br>his promise. Both he and Luol Deng orchestrated a third-quarter<br>rout, during which the Bulls’ two perimeter All-Stars hit 5 combined<br>three-pointers to help their team out-score Indiana by 20.

When you are a team — even a good team — that is headed to play<br>the conference’s (and maybe the NBA’s) best squad on its home floor<br>for the second time in a month, no one really should expect you to<br>win. The Pacers have set the “road warrior” bar pretty high by<br>winning in Chicago, Los Angeles (against the Lakers), Dallas, Orlando<br>and Boston in the early part of this season. So it was certainly a win<br>that felt within reach even as the Pacers sat on a one-point lead at<br>halftime. But losing this game isn’t a problem.

Getting your *** handed to you while getting outscored 50-29 over<br>the final 24 minutes is, however. One loss, even if it’s a 92-72 loss<br>to a division rival, in the middle of a truncated schedule isn’t going<br>to make or break this team, but they have to be a little embarrassed<br>and somewhat, at least temporarily, demoralized.

Silver lining: they have plenty...CONTINUE READING AT 8p9s (http://www.eightpointsnineseconds.com/2012/03/post-game-grades-bulls-give-pacers-the-bizness/)</TD></TR></TABLE>

Spud Webb Getting Smaller And Smaller Every<br>Time People Recount 1986 Dunk Contest<br><br>
ATLANTA—In recent accounts of Spud Webb's astounding<br>victory in the 1986 NBA Slam-Dunk Contest, basketball<br>fans across the nation have reportedly exaggerated the<br>diminutive point guard's size by greatly diminishing his<br>height with each retelling of the event. "I totally<br>remember he was like 3-foot-5-inches tall and he did<br>this amazing 180-degree reverse double-pump slam,"<br>Hawks fan Eric Davis said of the 5-foot-7 Webb, who<br>was 4-foot-9 and dunked from the foul line the last time<br>Davis told the story. "Spud really wasn't much bigger<br>than a basketball. He just blew everybody away in the<br>final round when he rode into the arena on a hamster,<br>ripped off his G.I. Joe doll uniform warm-up pants,<br>threw the ball at the backboard, ran between a small<br>child's legs...CONTINUE READING THE ONION (http://www.theonion.com/articles/spud-webb-getting-smaller-and-smaller-every-time-p,7096/)</TD></TR></TABLE>

The return of smash mouth basketball would be nice. Roy one basket and 10 shots the last 2 games, Tyler one FT attempt and Danny with just 5 over the last two games with TONS of jumpers by everyone even Big Roy.

We aren't much of a shooting team so we need to get back to pounding the paint and use it to open up some wide open outside looks. The Hawks are banged up and short on bigs right now so we need to take it too those guys and make then foul or give us some easy buckets.

This should be a fairly easy win. I could also see us come in aggressive and ready to take care of business due to last night's performance or we will just be down on ourselves and come out sloppy.

Lets sum that up..

Not so easy win

No.. what I'm saying is that this should be an easy win considering that Joe Johnson and Horford are out. Our guys are so unpredictable that I could see it going either way. ;)

Home game vs the broken wings of the Hawks. If Joe & Horford are both out then we have a better starting 5, better depth, better everything. On paper, we should be able to win.
But I guess our players our should be fatigued & mentally crushed from last night. So that's a big factor also.
I hope we're going to win and pick ourselves up.

It won't be an easy game. I expect us to struggle in the beginning. We have to win this game, though. The Hawks are a good team but we should be able to win them given their injuries.

Keep on the Collison hate... Hansbrough and Granger have both been worse this year and yet all I read is Collison, Collison, Collison. And I'm guessing these posters asking for a pass first pg, would also take a Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, or Deron Williams in a second. If anything, Collison isn't aggressive enough based on his %s. Ricky Rubio of all players takes more shots than Collison.

Westbrook Rose and Williams can all create their own shots and find the open player. DC can't do that at all. Also its hard to have a good year when you get essentially no wide open looks with the help of a PG.

Westbrook Rose and Williams can all create their own shots and find the open player. DC can't do that at all. Also its hard to have a good year when you get essentially no wide open looks with the help of a PG.

LOL are you seriously trying to place Granger's **** poor shooting on Collison? Or even Hansbrough for that matter? Granger's fg%s have been declining ever since he got into the league having NOTHING to do with our pg. And Hansbrough will not get the same officiating in the NBA that he got in college. His bulldozer mentality just doesn't work.

Rose, Westbrook, Williams, Irving, Jennings, Wall, Parker etc etc are more score first pgs than they are pass first. The reason most of these player accumulate assists is because of how ball dominant they are. Collison, otoh, is not a ball dominant pg, nor does our current offense require one. And again, look where Collison ranks in terms of fga/game. Nearly last among all starting pgs.

Way to change the argument. The leading scorer of the third seed in the East is better than his weaker link starting point guard that averages five assists. That doesn't need facts to back up, and I would find them but I am on my phone. I will find the stats though. It's called logic and common sense. The argument that Darren has had a better season that Danny is the same level of LOL as the argument saying that Brandon Rush isn't a consistent three point shooter.

Then defend it... 43% vs 38%... 42% from 3 vs 35%... More assists per game for Collison with fewer turnovers. Granger not much better in rebounds or steals. Granger is scoring more for the simple fact he takes more shots based on the %s. Both play average to bad defense with Granger every once in a while stepping it up on d. Not sure how anybody can make the case that it's a LOL argument this year. And with Hill's injury one could easily argue Collison's been more valuable to the team.

I won't deny that. I think he is a good scorer and good player overall but his weaknesses are really magnified with this team more than he would with about any other team.

What we need from a point guard for this team is ability to see the floor, shooting ability, and point guard defense. Darren has good shooting ability, although it's not what he's known for per se, but the rest are his primary weaknesses.

That's different than irrationally hating him to the point that I would say that he's worse than say TJ Ford. Which is what croz consistently does with Danny..

Smith is really good, it's a sham that he wasn't an All-Star, he should have been named there instead of Joe Johnson from the very beginning, he deserved it over Pierce this year, who Rondo should have been in over from the beginning.

Tonight though we've done the right thing, when Smith isn't on he can shoot you out of a game if he falls in love with his J, tonight however, it's on.

Hill is at his best when we let him do exactly what he's doing now.

Defend and Score.

Collison has been struggling lately, but that doesn't make George Hill any more of a point guard. He's a really good scoring guard off the bench that plays good defense too.

I hate how Collison and Hibbert have reacted after the Hawks hit a shot. Just ball-up and get it back on the other end. George Hill doesn't mope. He gets it done!

Hansbrough, next time you're in a 3-defender manwich, look for the two open teammates.

I can tell you that: This game sucks!
We can't beat a Hawks team without Horford+Johnson??? What exactly is our goal? I don't get it, we look totally different. The only player who gives me hope is Paul freaking George, his defense is outstanding!
I also don't understand why our bigs are always so far out on Defense...it kills us, cause we eat a lot of entry passes!
