Best Arm-Chair Coach – Awarded to the poster who displayed the greatest knowledge of the game of basketball in his or her discussion of the team and its players.

cordobes, count55, Justin Tyme, Naptown_Seth, Peck, Sookie, Hoop, Oak Moses, Will Galen, xBulletproof

The vast majority of posters were relieved and overjoyed to hear that Frank Vogel would return this season as full-time Head Coach of the Indiana Pacers; after all, no one was shy about sharing their opinions about how Jim O'Brien was failing to properly coach the team during his tenure. Still, fans are always looking for ways to improve our team's execution, and these nominees were the best at finding them. Will Peck secure his legacy and join the ranks of the retired with his third win in the category? Or will someone new step up to the challenge?

Past Winners:
2004 - ChicagoJ
2005 - Peck
2006 - Peck
2007 - thunderbird1245
2008 - thunderbird1245
2009 - imawhat
2010 - thunderbird1245

This poll will close on Friday at 7 p.m.

Oak Moses, the artist formerly known as mellifluous, has long been one of my favorites to read on PD. Hopefully he brings back his world famous mock-draft this May.

I was going to vote for Cordobes or Count55 but they not longer post here so I went to the next guy Naptown Seth, even tough we disagree a lot I think he brings fair points into the discussion.

Needless to say, Peck's Odd Thoughts have been especially invaluable this season.

But what does that have to do with this category? This isn't MVP.

I guess based on this definition:

Awarded to the poster who displayed the greatest knowledge of the game of basketball in his or her discussion of the team and its players.

and the fact that Peck posts after every game with writeups that, at least for me, contain a couple or even several insights about the game that I may not have come up with. Also a great coach sees stuff that his/her pupil cannot or does not see based on lack of experience or perspective. Peck's knowledge may not be quite as great as some but the rate at which he exhibits it is what got him my vote. Hope that makes sense differentiating it from MVP.

Plus, Seth has kind of been napping, not posting enough.

By definition, every fan of the Indiana Pacers loves the game of basketball, but for many, when it comes to Xs and Os, our understanding of the game isn't at the same level as our passion. Part of the attraction of Pacers Digest is the presence of posters who are capable of breaking down the tape and figuring out what went right and what went wrong in the game plan and execution. Naptown_Seth, known affectionately to some as Naptime, has always been one of those posters - and if you're willing to read his notoriously long posts, then you're most likely going to learn something too. A Best Debater retiree and former Rookie Poster of the Year, Naptime is a big-time draw here on Pacers Digest - and for good reason. Congrats and thanks to Seth and all the other nominees.
