View Full Version : A valuable question I think we should all ask..

After reading through the multitudes of people freaking out, I think it is time to be asking the question I've been pondering for quite some time.

How much does the injuries of Jeff Foster and George truly hurt this team? Would we be winning some of the games we've lost recently by adding them to the equation?

I thought Jeff Foster was back from injury? I also think that being careless with the ball and lazy on defense has a lot to do with our record currently going down the ****ter.

Well in the last 4 games we've lost, Atlanta didn't have Horford, Memphis didn't have Zach Randolph, and Denver didn't have Gallinari. So those 3 teams weren't at full strength either. And I doubt G3 wins us the Heat game by himself. Too many turnovers and bad defense, as DGPR said already.

I agree with DGPR. Quite a bit we shoot ourselves in the foot with mental mistakes that result in a TO (ie. dribbling the ball off a foot, forcing passes, etc), as well as all the offensive fouls we get. It's not like teams are forcing a lot of these TOs. Most can be avoided.

Vogel needs to slow the offense down and get back to smash mouth D. Also, guys need to stop being careless with the ball and make good decisions.

I think having George Hill might have added another win or two to our total. He is a fantastic glue guy who probably has the best all round game of any of our perimeter players. He makes smart plays at both ends and generally makes things flow better when he is in the game.

There is no doubt that losing both hurts.

However I will also say that both the Atlanta game and the Miami game neither would have made a bit of difference. We were never in either game.

Please don't think I don't like you or anything, Peck.. for I enjoy your posts. I just don't want you to think this because of me arguing with your points on occasion.

However, would the addition of Jeff Foster and George Hill from the start, change the fact that these teams both gained early leads and never looked back? George is an able defender that can harass the wings of either team off the bench, and a healthy Jeff Foster-Tyler Hansbrough tandem might also have positive effects on Tyler's game.

These are all meaningless questions really, for they are singular games in a long season. I simply wished to bring them to people's attention so they don't get so down on the team.

The Atlanta game? Maybe.

However Hill played vs. the Heat in the first game and they did not have Wade. So my guess is, no against the Heat neither of these would have made a difference.

If we lose against the Heat while not on a 3-game streak of losses, AND we don't get embarrassed, that's a positive, right?

Right?

Well, probably not, there'd still likely be people ready to jump off Boomer's rappelling platform without a rope. :D

I still don't understand why nobody gives a **** that Foster is getting paid like $1 mil per game.

It's not as if Jeff is out with "flu-like symptoms".

IMHO.....adding them back into the rotation will help...but I think that we still need to make more moves to improve the depth in the lineup.

I mentioned this in my "rant" in the Post-Game thread....how strong is our lineup if the offense/defense falls apart because GH goes down with an injury?

Adding Foster would help...having Hansbrough consistently produce would help....but the answer is that it's not very strong and why we need more consistent and reliable depth beyond GH.

Cause it is Foster and we have tons of extra money mainly I assume.

We are a different team with Foster and Hill.

Also, something I'm noticing more and more is that when other teams have injuries, someone else at the end of the bench steps up and fills the void...we just don't have anyone like that.

Because knowing Jeff this year's salary is probably the seed money he'll use to buy the franchise from Herb when the time comes.

Because it's a 1-year deal and with that 1-year deal, we're still under the cap.

It's a case of "Who cares? It's not our money." The only thing it affects is Simon's wallet.
