Really looking forward to this one! Their bigs tore us up last year. Would not be surprised to see some scuffles break out. There's going to be a lot of banging down low! A good test for our big guys!

I'm kinda iffy about the Jazz, we struggled against them last year and they are surprising some people with their record.

The Jazz are a quite good team but we should beat them if we want to convince people over our legitimacy.

Jazz G Tinsley to miss Tuesday’s game in Indiana

By HOOPSWORLD
Basketball News & NBA Rumors

Utah Jazz guard Jamaal Tinsley will miss Tuesday’s game in Indiana due to personal reasons.Tinsley has recently been filling in as the team’s starting point guard. Regular starters Earl Watson, Devin Harris and Raja Bell have all been battling injuries.Tinsley is averaging 1.3 points and 2.1 assists in 10 games for the Jazz this season.

"personal reasons" Gee , that sounds familiar

I'm pretty sure Tinsley missed some training camp with a sinus infection. Dude must have the worst sinuses known to man.

Since86
02-07-2012, 04:35 PM
I suffer from chronic sinus infections. They aren't any fun, but eventually it just becomes normal. This winter has been horrible though. Wake up every morning with an upset stomach. I've actually puked a few times in the shower from coughing so much.

But if I had Tinsley's cash flow, I'd be getting surgery. There's no reason to take medicine every day, like my dad, or just to deal with it, like myself, when you have mutliple other options.

I first started getting them in Jr. high. Thought I had mono at first.

I have the same thing. The worst part is I travel for a living. I have gotten stuck in Boston, Houston and San Francisco because of sinus infections. I imagine he does not want his sinuses exploding on the plane.

Last year was a perfect storm. Those two came into that game clicking with Al playing his best ball of his career. It was our 3rd in 4 nights and Tyler and Roy were still working to shake off the JOB hangover and Josh was still starting. With the added confidence we have under Frank and replacing Josh and B Rush with West and PG in the starting 5 we are in a way better situation to bang with them this year.

George is a nice, nice passer for a guy his size. He's averaging 4+ assists lately, anyone else think that if he keeps it up it may really allow us to thrive with DC, whose been nice scoring the ball, but is only an adequate passer? We don't need a steve nash as much when you have a team that can collectively pass the ball.

George is very key when it comes to ball movement. A big reason I think DC has been running the offense better as of late, actually comes down to George being a good distributor. When George is in the game, the ball seems to move much better.

Open your eyes DC... somebody is always open on a fastbreak and he misses them.

Open your eyes, DC was the best player on the floor in the first half, stop being picky, especially when he hit Granger perfectly at similiar situation few minutes before that, so the ability and vision is there, so i'd rather have a guy take decision on the floor, not you.

Woah there, PG was wide open in the corner is all I'm saying. I love how DC has been scoring this game, but a point guard is supposed to realize when a shooter is wide open right in front of him. ;)

Not bad being up 11 at the half despite Granger/West going 1-for-10 combined from the field. With DC feeling it, I wish he took a couple of those jumpers in the lane rather than kick out for 3's but it seemed like he was self-conscious about his shot total.

Pacers play an inside out game with several players who like to either take a dribble before going up with a shot or take their time after receiving the ball. In this kind of offense with these players and our low fg%, it's highly unlikely even a Steve Nash would come in and rack up 10+ assists a night. Wish more understood this and stopped unnecessarily criticizing Collison.

Right, and as I've repeated, you really shouldn't evaluate a PG based on how many assists he personally has.

They've been glorified, and I blame Lebron, Nash, and D'Antonie. If a PG is getting lots of assists, but no one's moving on offense, and there's little ball movement, said PG isn't running a good offense. And furthermore, that type of system will get beat in the playoffs.

The Pacer's struggle with both moving the ball and moving themselves, but I've seen a vast improvement from a lot of the players. And our system is definitely inside/out. The offense is looking good tonight, no need to bash DC.

If anything, evaluate the PG by how he is running the offense, and how many TEAM assists there are.

Hollinger and Bird have suggested that the Pacers would do much better if they had a Player that can create for others. Maybe I have the terms "creator on offense" mixed up.....but isn't Nash ( despite being eligible for Medicare ) one of the best creators on the offensive end ( and therefore improve the offense )?

Coach lobbying for his players to make the All-Star game doesn't bother me. I don't think it's weird, seems that every year I hear about some coach putting one of his guys forward for various honors. It's commonly done.

I do wonder if putting Granger in the mix weakens his recommendation of Hibbert, comparatively speaking. Just because I think it's obvious even to big fans of Danny that he probably isn't having an All-Star year (guys don't make this game based on defense).

Yep and we are on the bottom.

1 on 1's are a function of our offense though Frank's system isn't designed to get alot of assists. We go to Roy in the post just backing his man down for a score, same with West, same with Danny. No point guard would turn our offense into an assist fest (they could improve it) without Frank changing the offense.

I'm not complaining because it works.

Also, his teammates see him as a distributor and he has great chemistry with our other starters, so I wouldn't mess with it.

I think because what Price can actually do is not even close to what he tries to do, and the fact that he's a bad shooter who holds the ball and doesn't look to set up the right guys has been a huge factor as to why this lead is gone.

The interior defense has sucked and the assists have sucked as well... But AJ has been a factor as to why we lost our lead. He's shooting 16% on the season...
