Game Time Start: 7:30 pm EST

Woo-hoo, I get to watch this one on TV! I hoped to be home from work by now - guess I'll start the game thread now then join back in when I get home.

the key match ups,
GP vs Tinsley is always fun,
Artest vs PP, more fun.

This game should be intense. Those 2 played so well the other night shredding the interior D of the cavs with Ron posting up, and that high screen play for Tins. It should work just as well vs the Celts.

JO's gonna play some minutes off the bench tonight. Good to see him play, but I worry that he's rushing things.

Not a great half for the Pacers to be sure, but I do like what I see out of Gill tonight vs Gary Payton. Gill's D looks good (and yes, I realize that Payton has lost some game, but still), and he looks confident out there in the offense

Of course, losing the ball out of bounds the way Gill did when he took his eye off the ball to check the clock was embarassing...

Not bad to be down by only 1 pt at the half, all things considered

The thing is, as crappy as the Pacers have played, by all rights they should be down by double-digits to a healthy opponent - it's not like Boston is the Bobcats. This game is very winnable, ugly though it is.

Yeah they could still win, still not very encouraging though, if they play like this against anyone else.

How many turnovers is that now? 18? How can a team be so different from one game to the nest?

18 TOs so far according to Yahoo.

I'd still take a win, even if it looks butt-ugly. The combination of the new guys (Gill, Harrison), and the makeshift lineups with Cro and Pollard plus JO still playing gingerly on his bad knee makes for less than textbook play.

Boston still giving us lots of chances.

Dude, what is up with that rim on the left side of the court? Every shot taken on it sounds like it's about to fall off!

They must have a microphone right near that rim.

The one area where the Pacers are dominating is on the boards, outrebounding Boston 40-27.

what a great finish. it was obvious the Pacers were the better team the whole game, but only showed it the last 4 mins.

Ron Artest.. what a 2nd half, he is gonna be in the MVP running along with JO this year, it's bound to happen all you artest haters... youll just have to learn to live with having 2 mvp candidates on the same team. Croshere played another outstanding game IMO, Tinsley struggled, but he did good the 4th.

My asessment is this team is good enough to win the championship. They have the most versatile team in the nba. When Reggie, Bender, Foster, AJ finally make it back the only thing that will hurt this team would be a lack of playing time for everyone. I hope SJ doesn't get a t00d..

great-- I win the guess-the-score, the Pacers win, and Gary Payton (on my fantasy team) has a great game stats-wise.

I know not many on here see the Fox Sports New England Telecast with resident homers Heinsohn, Gorman, and Cousy.

They rarely heap praise on the opponent but they gushed over Ron Artest.

They started with Cousy, I think, asking if Artest should be an MVP candidate if he continues to be an offensive force (though nobody expects 30 ppg).

Heinsohn simply raved. He said that Artest should be an MVP candidate as soon as he controls himself fro a whole year.

He went on to say that Artest is not just the league's best defender, but one of the best defenders of all time, a throwback to the days when everyone focused on making his opponent have to rely on his absolutely WEAKEST moves because everything that he likes to do has been TAKEN AWAY.

Yeah, I watched the Boston telecast. It was fun hearing them rave about Artest.
