I think I can safely say, any coach you have ever had ever.

I've never seen an NBA offense run so poorly.

This team is absolutely awful. It looks like we are hurting without guys like Mike Dunleavy and Josh McRoberts who were 2 guys who could pass and initiate ball movement. We are just standing around out there taking jumpshots and getting blocked in the paint.

Not to mention we are giving up easy buckets like crazy.

Yeah I didn't like seeing Dunleavy go, he would have been a great back-up for Danny, much better than Dahntay Jones. Dunleavy would be a great fit for this bench unit, we had the money so that was kind of stupid.

We're down 8 on the road to the team that finished with the best record in the NBA last year, in the freakin' preseason, and most of you are acting like we are down by 30 to a team that is 10 games under .500 in game 37 of the regular season.

Some of you need to get a grip on reality before you go spinning off this planet.

Sounds like somebody else I know. PG ring a bell . Hopefully it's just pre-season jitters. They are just shaking the rust off.

All I want for Christmas is for Roy and PG to play with a little attitude. Last rant on PG, I have never seen a shooting guard that is so passive. Put Dahnty Jones in PG body and we may have something. Go Pacers!

I've never seen an NBA offense run so poorly.

The players don't move without the ball, other than DC...who has the ball. Pretty much everyone else just stands there.

I still say part of the reason is that our bigs (other than West) really suck at setting screens/picks. And part of the problem is players don't know where to go and such.

You have to remember, new coach and new offense..and no training camp.

Lol dude, being down by 8 against the bulls is the equivalent to being down by 30 points. Lets not forget how bad we blew leads against this team in the 4th quarter last year in the playoffs. They could easily go on a 10-0 run if Rose goes off, especially with a guy like Rip Hamilton by his side now. We have no chance and are playing horribly right now, on both ends.

Hansbrough's likely future contribution to the Pacers if he keeps playing like this is to probably end up as the key piece of the package that nets us that "superstar" so many crave.

Personally, I think once West is fully up to speed it will just make our power forward position a true nightmare for opposing coaches.

At some point though, (Probably next summer or trade deadline), either West and what will essentially be his 10 million dollar expiring deal or Hans will probably be involved as the center piece of a big trade, JMO.

I seriously doubt this. The Pacers have no reason to trade either of them. They would be better served trading Danny Granger.

DWest will be a very valuable asset this time next year if he stays healthy. Several teams would love to get their hands on a player with an expiring $10mill contract who can still produce. Not saying I would shop him, but I am guessing teams will be calling Bird with offers.

Sadly, Butler simply doesn't have the size, speed or talent to compete consistently with the upper-echelon of teams in the tournament. That they even have gotten this far two years in a row is nothing short of a miracle.

We can see that things like reality have no bearing on TCHT's thoughts and opinions.

What a difference in competition Detroit will be from that. Chicago is just really good.

I'm encouraged by Paul George. He was aggressive much of the game today, even if he made a couple of silly turnovers. It was 2 games against one of the best defenses the NBA has to offer, and he averaged 16 and 8 with 2 steals per. If he's that aggressive against lesser defenses he may average 15+ PPG.

No way, you leave at least 1 roster spot open as far as I am concerned. At some point a couple of teams are going to implode this season and need to make some decisions. At least a couple of teams are going to be looking to drop a player or two before the year is over.

When you're carrying 15 million in cap space and a couple open roster spots, you're going to have your pick of those players. Imagine being able to dump a 2nd round pick for a good bench player, or two around the trade deadline. It can happen.

You know what, we played sloppy, but it wasnt as bad as it started. Granger wasnt good, but wasnt horrible. We know he will get better. Hans was a beast. PG had a good game. He is still a little too hesotant and picks up his dribble too much, but i like what i see so far. I really liked what i sae from David West in his limited minutes. We were able to go to him wjen we needed a bucket and he came through. He will be very good for us.

Hibbert... this is who im most disappointed in. He just needs to step it up. He doesnt look any stronger than last season and thats not good. He is the only one i am concerned about right now. Hill hasnt been good, but he just joined us so no biggie. Collison has been up and down. Very eager to see him with West more. His defense seems better, i think.

Overall i think this team just needs some time. Luckily early on the schedule isnt too brutal. Not many teams are as good as chicago is, especially defensively. Our offense is a mess right now, hopefully time fixes that. Our defensive rotations leave a lot to be desired. I hope this is being worked in as well as it was a problem last season too.

Oh and i hope to see more of Lance. Kid definitely has potential. I wouldnt mind seeing him log the back up pg minutes with Hill at back up 2. Then PG can back up Granger with jones playing spot minutes there. Also curious of how much west and hansbrough can play together.

Yea because it's so smart to not use all available roster space in a condensed 66 game season where we are going to need every fresh body we can get. And please, don't make the argument that we can just sign someone if we needed them. You can only dress 12, so the last 2 guys on the end of the list only matter if you're seeing a LOT of injuries. Easy to spend that money when it's not yours, I suppose.

I'm guessing Hicks deleted the first 2 words of my post, too bad. I thought it was a good one, so I'll just replace it with this, you can chill with the overly dramatic "oh please" ... Well like i've previously said, these guys are going to be playing a lot of games within the next 4 months...so just in case we deal with injuries, which is MUCH more likely due to the schedule, we need to go the safe route and pick up a 15th man. You never know what will happen, David could blow out his knee again, Hibbert could sustain a horrible injury(he's played injury free for most of his career so far), or Jeff could go out again. Let's not forget Jeff Pendergraph who is sidelined at the moment.

You never know how a players body will react in a season like this. A lot of these guys could possibly break down.

You're acting like the 15th guy on the roster will play in that instance anyway. They might dress, but they're still 2 injuries away from the rotation realistically. There would still be time to get acclimated before playing unless it's a sudden and terrible rash of injuries.

In which case you're screwed anyway.

My impressions:

George Hill is obviously feeling the pressure of high expectations. He looks very shaky, and his confidence seems to be failing him. I think this will pass, as he was a 45% shooter last year. The sooner we relent and allow him to focus at the 2, the better off we'll all be.

This is the first game that I thought to myself, wow it looks like Lance actually belongs out there. I thought he was the best PG on the floor for us tonight. He broke down the defense a couple of times singlehandedly, and found the open man quite a few times. I disagree with those who say he has no BB IQ. He's still raw, but he's clearly starting to get what's expected of a NBA PG. I'm impressed.

When Hibbert gets off to a bad start, he struggles for the entire game. Today was a great example of this. He also struggles a lot against Noah. I think this will resolve itself, but it's a bad start for him.

I liked watching the smiles on West's face. Although he was rusty, I think the smiles indicated to me that he's starting to recognize that he hasn't lost much following the injury. Confidence quickly building. He's going to be big for us this year, I think. Whew, I was stressing on what the injuy would do to his game.

Wow, Hansbrough... I am really starting to feel bad about how upset I was when we drafted him. He singlehandedly can control the momentum of a game, on both sides of the floor. The flopping/unorthodox shooting style is starting to feel more like a trademark for him rather than a liability. He still has work in reading the defense, a good example was when he was trying to shoot against a triple team at one point.

We had a single digit lose to possibly the best team in NBA, I'm not too worried. Hibbert did look pretty pathetic, but I'll give some credit to Noah, who is a great defender, and we all know he disappears in some games, unfortunately, nothing new

Boozer really played good tonight wonder why Hibbert was on him at times.

Hibbert looks like he is a lot slower than last year he just looked lost tonight.

Alright well, good luck with watching the pacers this season, because I know I sure won't. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be watching the draft this year though, ya know when we get a top 5 pick after having our worst year in over a couple decades.

What a strange person. Enough of a Pacers fan to sign up here this month, and is already so dejected from a preseason loss, that he/she thinks we will be terrible, and refuses to watch.

People are just odd sometimes.

So far Hibbert doesn't look any better than last year.

I've criticized Tyler in the past but I have to give him props. His game is improving.

George Hill has been underwhelming.

We keep shooting like this and Dunleavy will start to sound pretty good.

I have to admit, even with it being preseason, Tyler's been a bit of an eye-opener, even to a fan like me.

He's exceeded my expectations. I expected a guy with a pretty good mid range game and a decent post game...but a fairly weak defender. That's not what he is.

He has a very good mid range game, actually a pretty nice dribble drive, not really a post game so much...and he's a pretty solid defender and rebounder. If he plays like he did tonight and I see know reason why that will not continue, I think he has a shot at being an all-star. ...and to think many people didn't think he could start. I think people have preconceived notions on what a PF should be...and he's breaking some rules...

Hes not the only one who looked lost, though he looked more lost than anyone else. I hope its because the coaches are putting in a new system. It would make me feel a lot better about tonights game.

Roy needs to slow down.

There's no need to rush. Position yourself and back yourself in. No need for happy feet. Just back the defender in with your size and take the hook shot. Something Roy is good at given nice positioning.

It really seems like a mental thing. He's capable of taking his time and using his size in the post.
