Any of you guys read in the NBA Preview of SI that Danny is overpaid at $12 million for what he does for the Pacers and you thought to yourself, "Who wrote this crap?"

I dont think that high of Danny but im perfectly fine with his $12 mil... Seems fair to me.

I'm just hard on him for the most part. He gained more of my respect in the Chicago series, hopefully he keeps it up.

lets be honest, no body at SI has ever watched a Pacer game up until the playoffs last year.

We should just be happy he didn't hit the market after his all-star year.

We discussed this a few weeks ago. I seem to remember everything else they said about us was nice. Guess that was the only thing they could come up with to say bad about us.

I said something to the effect that he wouldn't have said that if Murphleavy was still on our roster.

We already signed him to an extension the summer before his All Star season

Whoever said that is the one who is truly overpaid.

How can they say that when scrubs who can't even start make $8 million per year? $12 million a year for Granger isn't objectionable either way.

Without Danny, Pacers wouldn't win 30 games

When Danny got his current contract he was well worth the investment. If he was on the open market now do you think he would get that contract? I think it is possible but not absolute. I think the SI article is putting his current contract in context with the new CBA. The NBA landscape has changed a little.

Indiana's entire roster is a steal at this point given their salaries. One of the reasons why it was so hard to trade Jackson and Artest for equal value.

If Nene can command $15MIL, I'm pretty sure that Granger can.

You all think too much into these butthead writers.

They don't know what they're talking about nor do they care. They're being paid to do this.

I bet anyone on here can write articles about the Pacers 20x better than these fools.

Teams like the Clippers & Nets would have GLADLY 'overpaid' Granger his salary...
I thought SI is a bikini-thing site. Does it have anything to do with the NBA?

Which is basically what I said.

Wow, one of the most moronic statements ever made. At least we didn't give him $118 million like the Hawks did with Joe Johnson. Lawl.

I said I thought it was possible. The Pacers didnt think Nene was worth that kind of money. They had the cap and decided the price was too high.
Somebody will always overy pay. It only takes one idiot like the Hawks owner to do it.

Yes, I wonder if they have even seen Danny play.

Danny's most definitely overrated... But no, I don't think I'd say he's overpaid.

Danny isn't overrated. He's a 20+/5+ guy that plays within a system. He's not the Granger show. Not to many SF's in the league that are better. He's worth every dime!

pisss off SI

I know you're not a Granger fan either...and I will second your statement. Granger is worth about what he's paid. You don't get a guy like him for 8M/yr. He's not worth 15M/yr either. 11-12M is just about right.

Granger was a steal under the old CBA. Under the new one? I dont believe he is a steal but what did other SF's sign for? I cant think of one who signed after the lockout. That would settle the debate.
