Strange fellow. Choosing Portland Trailblazers over Indiana Pacers.

He'll have bigger role in Portland, and it's closer to home for him.

Not surprising at all.

More PT was probably what made that decision for him

Good deal for Portland.

Good fit for Crawford. He's close to home, and he gets to start.

I think that Portland being close to home and more play time were factors. Also, I think the Pacers put a deadline on when they were expecting a response, trying to be able to get a yea/nay from Crawford so they would know whether to go back to pursuing the Memphis deal.

I really think Crawford was the Pacers first choice for a FA guard and that's why they threw Rush into the McRoberts deal. If Memphis would have taken Rush and McRoberts, then the Memphis trade would have been just as good for them as getting Crawford. Memphis balked, Crawford strung the Pacers out for 24 additional hours before saying no, and by that time Mayo was no longer a possibility because McRoberts was gone anyway.

In the end, I think it worked out for the best for everyone. McRoberts, Crawford AND the Pacers.

What is strange? Portland is just as good, if not better than the Pacers

Maybe Bird let it be known that he would be backing up Paul George.

He eliminated us rather quickly, even before telling the Knicks, at half the offer.... no thanks.

If my 11th grade English teacher were to see that last sentence she'd smack me!

watching the presser live he said Nate Mcmillian was the deciding factor and being close to home helped as well. He said he has known Nate since he was 16 years old and really respects him and his job he has done with the Blazers. Nate really is a great coach and has proved it the past few years.

Nate said it is a dream to coach Jamal because he saw him grow up.
