This will likely evolve throughout the season, as we get to know him better as a player and a teammate.

As of now, I will refer to him as The Boxer.

Anyone else have some ideas?

I'll probably call him

/drumroll

West, if I feel really crazy...I could go with D West.

David West nicknames article -- LINK (http://www.hornets247.com/blog/2008/02/03/david-west-needs-a-handle-part-2/)

"I don't know, I guess… Fluffy?"

"Yeah, I think they're talking about your facial hair."

He laughed at that one.

And this article - LINK (http://www.hornets247.com/blog/2008/01/03/wests-jumper-is-as-soft-as-a-fluffy-bunny/) - Content of the article is really good, but here's more Fluffy--

My buddy walks into my house a couple nights ago during the game against Cleveland, a big dumb grin plastered across his face, and says, "West's jumper is as soft as a fluffy bunny!"

How can we not respect him? He's got a Fluffy Bunny Jumpshot!

I agree with the Wild Wild West.

In fact, it is my mission to get all of us in Area 55 to sing that song whenever he goes to the line.

I know someone in Area 55, I will float him that idea. I think that would be funny. Or if David could have is own section called The Wild West.

Lol well I'm in Area 55, too. We have a meeting on Sunday. I'll float it by the guys. I'm not really serious about it or anything, but I'll float it by the guys and see what they think. We'll definitely figure something out.

More Fluffy references (http://www.hornets247.com/blog/2011/03/27/game-on-hornets-lakers-but-really-talking-david-west/) -

For two seasons, Fluffy was my favorite player on the team. There’s just something about the combination of a muscular big man who shows the ball-handling and shooting ability of a guard that just makes me smile. Size and Skill. Toughness. There can also be few things as fun to watch as a legitimately angry David West.

I think you could start a grassroots movement, and before I know it I will be hearing the wild wild west everytime I watch a home game.

The guy I know is Rob Greenway, I think his wife also has a seat next to him, I can't recall. If you guys could sing that, I could live vicarously spl? through you guys from my living room.;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubwUfyhm4Vs

Darryl: Well see, um, in the gang world. we use somethin called 'fluffy fingers".

Michael Scott: What is it?

Darryl: That's when somebody really gets in your face, and ya know, ya just start ticklin'em

Michael Scott: Really?

Darryl: Yeah, and then he starts ticklin you, and you're laughin and huggin...before ya know it, you've forgotten the whole thing, then ya'll just go to church together..get ice cream cones

Tyler can be Launchpad McQuack.

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/6738/launchpadwithdarkwing.jpg

Launchpad McQuack - Disney Wiki (http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Launchpad_McQuack)

Launchpad has a kind nature to himself, but when his friends are threatened or in trouble, he can and will stand up for himself and those close to him. At times, he can be clumsy, but usually, his clumsiness pays off and enables him to (inadvertently) save the day.

Seriously, Some of you want to nickname an NBA PF "Fluffy"? That is just wrong. Fluffy is weak, it is something my wife would name my jewel or vice versa. Come on guys, we can do better then that. You think David would want that nickname? I would be embarrassed with that name.
David West the "Fluffy". Come on Man!

David "D-West" West - What I've always heard people call him.
David "Wild" West.
David "The Assassin" West
David "The Heater" West
David "D-Smooth" West
David "D-Smoove" West

Gotta find something better then:
