Could be a solid pick up if price is right and young enough to growth with the team. Great size, shoots a lot but can get hot just like Crawfprd and as a bonus

Good friends with Paul George

Not necessarily... it sounds very much up in the air.

So why hasn't it happened? Young is clearly exploring his options to see if he can get paid more elsewhere (or drive up his bidding price to stay in DC).

He is a very talented player, nice shot, good ball handling, can take it to the hole...just doesn't play defense. But I think he would under the riight coach and teamates.
We'll see what happens!

prolly not the right thread, but pacers had said that they had acouple other offers out there during the Mayo deal. Crawford is 1, who is the other?

Vnzla, that man's the hard-nosed lunch pale backup center we've been waiting for.

Original topic: I like the idea of adding a great scorer at the 2, but I don't really want to add one for more than a couple years. Young would take a big deal, in dollars and in length.

Seriously though, what is the hold up with Nick Young?

If it was crystal clear, that he wanted to be back with the Wizzards, and the Wizzards wantedd him back, wouldnt it have been done by now?

I wouldn't mind bringing in Nick Young, but at the same time we'd probably have to overpay to get him. I'm not willing to overpay to make the Wizards let him walk. I'd rather see what we have with a three-man rotation of George Hill, Lance Stephenson, and Paul George at the two, with PG starting. Really don't want to get into a bidding war for a guy who's only had one really good season.

No a thousand times no. This guy has never been a contributor to a playoff team. Don't you think there is a reason for that. We do not need to go back we need to move forward. It seems very strange that people can't see that the Pacers got better when him and Dunleavy were not a major part of the team. They are both soft as butter and play no defense.

Maybe a big nose player never will be a hard nose player. They play defense.

Nick Young is a chucker.

That is all.

No, thanks. It is about fit. He is a very good scorer, who plays very uninspiring defense. He will be a "plus" contributor in terms of his scoring on most nights, but you need to surround him with players with the right characteristics. He will cost more than we want to pay for a backup SG. No thanks.

Reggie Williams? Yes please.

His defense scares me, but his offense is pretty awesome. I'm open to the idea that his defense was negatively effected by playing for Golden State, but I dunno.

How is that any different than what we are trying to get with Crawford? Plus, Williams would cost a lot less and command less playing time. Williams is a knock-down shooter and a hell of a scorer.

I feel good about keeping Rush on an expiring deal basically, but nobody else seems to be.

How about Earl Clark? Orlando hasn't re-signed him yet. He could help b/u Granger at SF.

Reggie Williams defense every time I've watched him was AWFUL. Crawford isn't great, but there's a huge gap there, and just looking around on Twitter, I see it isn't just me either.

Draft Express - Jonathan Givony: Sure, Reggie Williams can make 3s. But so can a lot of other 6-4 guys who would play for the minimum. They might actually try on defense too about 9 minutes ago

then ....

Scott Schroeder: Since @Jonathan Givony started going in on Reggie Williams, I've got four texts from NBA people. Three of the four agree with Jonathan. :-( about 7 minutes ago

I'd be for it. Kid gets buckets and has some nice moves. Good ball handler too.
