JMac on JMV is essentially the opposite of confirming anything on the S&T w/Memphis.

"I'd have to sign something before any deal is done"

Also says this would be something he would be willing to do.

JMac's disappointment is that the Pacers let him believe he was going to be back up until the lockout then didn't talk to him after the lockout ended about going in a different direction.

Says he won't be spiteful against the Pacers or make them sweat but will be doing what is best for him at the end of the day; he believes Memphis would be a good fit.

I hope if JMac goes to Memphis that he gets a LOT of playing time. He deserves an honest shot, not 12-14 minutes a game.

JMV is trying gently to prod him into something controversial but he's staying classy.

Talking about how loud Assembly Hall was in 05 compared to IU-Kentucky.

Listening to him via internet in Richmond, Virginia. It's clear that a deal is in the works, but it is not close to being done. He also confirmed that the Pacers trying to add BRush to the deal is what is holding up the deal. According to him, the whole goal of the sign and trade is so he can make a little more money that way than he would by signing directly.

He said something about his two best friends and I was thinking about MackeyRose and Brushwithdeath

I heard the interview also, but with todays lightning fast media a lot players have been saying they didn't find out they were dealt until they read it on th internet. This deal could be closer than McRoberts even knows.

So frustrating when these confirmation rumors leak then come to find out the players themselves aren't even aware of it...No way this trade happens today with the way things are sounding

I guess in some back way the Pacers could have gotten that to McBob, once again they couldn't tell him directly, but maybe through his agent.

Or they could have just called when the lockout ended.

It sounds to me that more and more people are becoming interested in the Pacers.

A lot of callers on The Fan asking about the team and such and sounded excited.

So easily, much better attendance this season with the Pacers popularity at its highest point since before the brawl as in a good way.

I wasn't able to hear Josh talking on JMV, but I tuned in to The Fan on my way home from work.

<snip> This deal could be closer than McRoberts even knows.

That's impossible because Josh has to actually sign a contract with the Pacers before he can be traded to Memphis. That's why they call it a sign-and-trade deal.

It's actually a three-team situation where the Pacers, Grizzlies, and McRoberts/Agent are the three teams involved.

And there is actually a separate paragraph in the legal document that stipulates that he is signing to be traded.

The Pacers usually have been decent in these situations to players. I wonder why this was handled differently? Anything on the side you're aware of MR?

What's the "new direction"?

Jeff Pendergraph and Jeff Foster? Wow, that IS different. Foster isn't new and will be hard pressed to have his back keep up with this tight schedule. Pendy is a different type of PF but ultimately isn't a big talent or role change. Neither of them keep you from having Josh here.

The whole treatment from start to finish has felt like a real slap in the face. Did Josh pee in Larry and JOB's soup or what?

Tyler struggles and we have to let him develop. Josh struggles and it's "see, told you he couldn't get it done, he's 24, his shot is over". F'ing weird, right to the end.

The new direction is David West. There's no reason to go into the season with 3 PFs. It sucks to let Josh go, but the only alternative is to trade away Tyler for something.

And not that I wouldn't be in favor of doing just that, I just don't see that big of a difference between the two for it to really matter.

We either read you guys complain about Josh leaving, or read people complain about Tyler leaving. Either way, one of them was gone the moment TPTB started targeting a new PF.

JMV talking about people getting back onboard and attending Pacers games because they are a winning basketball team in a basketball state.

He's one of my favorite guys to listen to and he said he said he doesn't fail with things like that in Indiana.

Maybe Bird knew they would revisit the trade again and thats why he neglected to move forward right away on a new contract for Josh

I'm not going to have sympathy for McRoberts. He played well when he had opportunities and he was exciting. He received what he was owed, and regardless of what happened before the lockout the new CBA changed which caused a shift in McRoberts' value to this team.

The good thing with Josh vs Tyler....we won't have to talk about it much longer.

Can someone tell me why Josh would even bother with this? Why would he rather go to an OJ Mayo-less Memphis instead of just signing with Memphis straight up and having OJ on the team? How much is he going to be paid??

Not sure how more, but he said he would make more money this way.

No one chooses to go to any team on the basis of OJ Mayo being on the roster.

He isn't that good.
