I have to say it's a little weird seeing the assistant coaches actually coach in practice after O'Brien dominated practice when he coached.

Came across this tweet from Wells and thought it was interesting. I think we knew with Vogel and Shaw that this was going to be a team effort from the coaching staff.

Does anyone have any specific knowledge of how practices are going, or which coach is working with what part of the game or which players?

I saw Wells being interviewed asking his opinion on the Pacers he seems to think at best we can only be a 7th seed in the East is one thing that kind of irked me.

He was also talking about practice and the overall mood and culture of the team. Said that everyone was working hard and in good spirits and at the end of the practice they had a free throw shooting contest between the coaching staff and the players.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel makes his team work hard, but he also letís them have fun.

That was the case at the end of their second practice Sunday.

The players and coaches competed against each other in a free throw shooting competition.

The players had to do ten pushups after each missed free throw. The coaching staff had to do the same after each of their misses.

Brian Shaw, the former NBA player, was the only coach to miss a free throw. The coaches only won because they didnít have to attempt as many free throws.

Which is fun and all, but honestly, Roy needs to let that go. JOB's gone, it's one thing for us to crack wise about it, but Roy needs to be above it. Same way I feel about Danny and that "Stern's B" tweet.

JOB will be a distant memory in a few months.

I watched that interview on 13 and he said best 5th, worst 7th. The story about the FT contest was great.

JOB will be a distant memory when the cold dead winds of a barren earth washed by the feeble rays of a dying sun blow across the lands and the final electron of the entity that was Pacers Digest streaks into the void.

Fixed.

This is happening, because Vogel wants the team to be better, he's not concerned with his own ego. And if Shaw can teach the team (and Vogel) something, Vogel will listen.

Well, other than that.

Frank gets it. He just gets it. This kind of playing style will fit very well with the deep bench that Larry is trying to build. All these super teams are paper thin when it comes to depth of talent. Turn it into a track meet and wear them down.

In several interviews Coach said they were not going to have coaches assigned to Defense Bigs Ect. He said it was just going to be an all around group effort.

NBA AM: Will The Dominoes Drop In The NBA?
By Steve Kyler

The Pacers? The Indiana Pacers have quietly assembled a respectable team. Sources say that the Pacers have been going as hard as anyone in the league over the last few days and that the intensity and focus of the team is at an all-time high. Pacer source marvel at how well Darren Collison is playing in camp and expectations of a home court playoff seat are increasing.

It seems Pacer coach Frank Vogel is channeling his inner Brad Stevens, and for you Butler fans youíll get the reference.

The Pacers are trying to land one more scorer to round out the squad and have been linked to a dozen players. Hawks free agent Jamal Crawford is said to be the teamís top target, however Crawford is said to be indecisive and wavering.

The Pacers told agents of players they have offers out to that they are closing up business and focusing on camp, and that if they cannot sign the next piece they have some trades they were working on.

Memphis sources say there is renewed interest in O.J. Mayo from the Pacers and that both teams have at least the framework of a deal ready to go that would land Mayo in Indiana and Brandon Rush, who has almost no role with the new look Pacers, and possibly a signed and traded Josh McRoberts to the Memphis.

The Pacers are expected to make some decisions today, so weíll see which way they go.

Apparently DC's been impressing in practices. If he can become another core piece to this group then the NBA better watch out. He's probably getting comfortable playing with this group (and David West can only help) and finally being able to play for the same coaches again. He looked pretty good last year vs. Chi before he got injured...hoping he's improved his D.
