View Full Version : Sunday's Pacers/Nuggets game on League Pass?

10-21-2004, 11:23 PM
I've looking at the schedule, and Sunday's game in Denver is listed to be on TV via the local Denver TV people. Which means I'd like to think the game will be on for me via League Pass. But I won't know if it's on my schedule or not until I'm within a day and a half or so to tipoff (my guide menu won't extend much further). However, I know DirecTV users seem to be able to find out earlier than that, so do any of you see it on your schdules yet?

Also, does anyone know a webpage I can go to to see the scheduled games for LP?

DirecTV has our guide 'all buggered up' (that's a technical term) right now.

Right now it's showing the Jazz, Mavs and Bobcats being on LP Sunday.

Is LP going to be like this during the regular season? Hit and miss? Because if so, I'm starting to feel like I wasted my money. I thought the idea was you get ALL the games, so long as someone is covering them locally.

No, this is a quirk of the preseason.

Happens every year.

They just dont care about the pre season games. This is not how it works durring the regular season. There will only be a couple of games that you will not able to see with LP.

Pacers @ Nuggets is showing up on the schedule now, Friday night.. Hicks are you seeing it on yours or is this another Directv exclusive?

I won't know until tomorrow, my guide menu only extends about a day and a half.

I'll check out Dish's website to see if their schedule goes further.

Not listing anything for LP (meaning it won't show one way or the other).

Just have to wait until tomorrow.

Well, just got a guide update--- and it only goes to 6:30PM Sunday right now

Just have to wait a while longer to see.

I am a little encouraged; so far I can tell there are 3 other games I'll get to see Sunday night.

Just updated; not listed again. :(

Stupid preseason being bias between providers. Why on earth would one company provide it, but not the other, when both provide presumably the same service (NBALP), and both are showing various preseason games. Stupid.

The NBALP technology was originally all through DirecTV.

You've got two possible issues: (1) Venues like CFH are only setup to send the in-house signal directly to DirecTV. Since this hypothetical reason only affects non-broadcast preseason games, why would the Pacers, forex, spend extra money to "fix" this to broadcast preseason games that only fifteen of us are even going to watch? (2) DirecTV may still be paying NBALP for exclusive distriubtion rights on preseason games or something.

DirecTV's plan to defeat the cable companies has always been exclusive sports content, so if they're willing to pay exclusive distribution rights for Sunday Ticket or preseason games or the first two rounds of the NCAA tourney or whatever, then it may be prudent for the leagues to accept those exclusive contracts, even if certain fans that subscribe to "the wrong system" get blacked out.

Feel lucky you get to see any preseason games at all. Digital cable for me here I don't get anything at all till regular season starts. :(
